Ghost of the HEB
ParticipantJD only had two touches Saturday — both of which were impressive TDs that displayed his abilities in passing and running game. So why tf is he not on the field more?? It’s to the point where it seems we only bring him on the field if the play is going to him, and a good defensive staff will have that tendency sniffed out.
Let’s get JD more involved and keep the defenses worried about him.

ParticipantCould be that they’re setting up defenses to key on him when he enters the game, for a big misdirection play.

ParticipantCompletely agree. JD is a playmaker who should be starting or getting starter snaps. Adds dimension to our offense (speed to the edges, stretches defenses vertically). There isn’t another WR on the team that does what he does, so why is he underutilized?

ParticipantI am not savvy enough to know why he isn’t utilized more often. But, one thing I do know is that there has to be a reason(s) or KW and Ludwig would have him on the field more often. Maybe it’s for the reason Hellhound outlined below.

ParticipantJD is a body catcher, always has been, always will be. He almost dropped the touchdown pass because he can’t catch with his hands. Which is a bummer because he get’s open.

ParticipantKnew you would show up with this nonsense. Prove it.
JD makes body catches when he gets under thrown. Tyreek Hill makes a lot of body catches too for the same reason. What’s the common reason here for the underthrown balls? That’s what you should be looking at taking advantage of, but instead you’re hung up on some technique issue.
Forest thru the trees.

ParticipantI hate it but it doesn’t change that it is true. That is why they don’t play him in the slot when he is clearly the most athletic reciever on the roster and has appropriate size.

ParticipantWatch the video @ 2:19 of the same catch he trapped it against his facemask and pulled it into his body. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C-aLXKCaVVA

ParticipantWe disagree. Like I said, there are others. Go watch SDSU last year. And even if you were correct, I don’t care how he’s catching it if he’s getting open and making plays.

ParticipantThat we can agree on.

ParticipantI have no opinion on his fully body of work – but he did bobble that TD pass (which is why it was under review). Glad he was able to secure it in time.
