Coaching was good again today. Team was obviously ready to play. Not sure why we tried to get cute near the goal line again… whatever.
QB: Rising did fine, didn’t need to or have a chance to get into a rhythm. Jackson looked really good on his one run. He’s easily as athletic as any of our running backs. That is pretty crazy.
WR: Nice to see Enis get some catches.
TE: Fotheringham blocked well, a nice catch or two from kuithe. Didn’t see kincaid get involved in any way tonight.
OL: Played well, could have pass blocked better. Still seemed to struggle near the goal line.
DL: Played well overall. Fillinger lost contain on their one touchdown, and Carlton had to try and cover for him.
LB: Lloyd is the best linebacker we’ve ever had by a mile. He might be the perfect linebacker. size? CHECK. Speed? CHECK. Coverage skills? GOT IT. Pass rushing? YUP. Football IQ? OFF THE CHARTS. Run defense? CHECK. Tackling ability? NOBODY BETTER. Nothing else to say about this guy. Amazing to watch him play.
Sewell seemed to be playing injured no?
CB: Fine, Vaughn got burned once. Oh well.
S: Bishop had a few nice plays. He needs to build up confidence in his ability to cover PAC12 receivers. He easily could have stuck with his guy on that PI, but felt the need to hold him for some reason.
K: YAY! 100%
P: Looked awkward but at least it wasn’t blocked.
KR/PR: Covey does a great job but the dude has CLEARLY lost a step or two. He just doesn’t have the top speed, acceleration, or pop that he once had. He is so smart that he can still make guys miss, but he clearly is not the same player.
