What is your confidence level in OC Beck? 2013-2021 he has been the QB coach for Bronco at BYU then Virgina. Moved to Syracuse with Anae 1 yr as QB coach then 1 year as QB-OC. Went back with Bronco at NM as QB-OC for 1 year.

Basically a QB coach most of his career. 2 yrs as a play caller. 1 in the ACC and 1 in the MW. No Big 12 experience. With that said he is a highly experienced QB coach. Probably would have been a big help to Wilson last year. Is he ready to take a big step forward? Is there a learning curve? Will the schemes transfer to a more talented and physical defenses? Lots of unanswered questions.

I like that he is a Qb friendly OC. His offenses have had success in the past. Could be a defining point in his career. He will definitely make some mistakes but bringing the QB with him is huge. Dampier obviously likes playing for him or he would have gone elsewhere. I think Scalley likes his style of offense for the future. I’m all on board and love the hire.

I don’t know about confidence, but my belief and hopes that he will be a good to great OC are much higher than they were for any of Whit’s previous OCs.

It is almost like Utah fans willfully ignore the high-scoring and high-passing offense that produced two PAC12 titles only a few years ago. Then they pretend that it could never happen with the current head coach even though it just did- twice.

With such dour outlooks I wonder why they like following Utah football at all.

I kidding. We had one of the best offenses in the country under Ludwig when he had a healthy QB

Bingo…..With a healthy CR, Ludwig’s O averaged just under 40 pts/game…..His O also tore it up with Huntley…..Ludwig didn’t go out with a bang, but had some great success during his tenure…..Injuries certainly played a role the last two years, as well.
