I was following his recruitment very closely and was almost positive we’d land him. Once again I fell for the rope-a-dope. Do you think it came down to late Tennessee money? Was he Tennessee bound all along and we didn’t know? Do you think signing Pula twins had anything to do with it? As always I appreciate your insights. Go Utes!

I think he went silent after the offensive staff was let go.

Yes. He was in the other Moa thread a day or two ago.

He commented on the last thread about Moa a few days ago.

I understand from a good source that Utah was going to be his choice until the late push by Tennessee in the last 48 hours. They were on the phone with him for hours the night before he announced his decision. They told him he could play both ways, and because he would be in the SEC he would get tons of attention.

I don’t think it was because their NIL offer was bigger than ours. The head coach and offensive coordinator worked him hard the last few days. Utah coaches apparently tried to call him the night before his announcement, but he did not answer.

I don’t think Utah is done recruiting him. He has not signed anything yet. Can we flip him? Who knows, but this is one guy we should do everything possible to flip.

Lots of optimism even 24 hours before the announcement.

SEC football is a big draw but they felt like they had done enough to hang on. Utah’s NIL was where it needed to be the entire time so I don’t think that was the deciding factor and I don’t think he was being dishonest with anyone, just ended up doing what he felt was best for him.

I think having his brother leave the state also worked against us and kinda opened the door for him to go too.

Just posted this on another thread but even Salesi is calling out what a lot of us have been saying on here. Who knows really how close he even was.

Being in the Big 12 hurts. The Utes would have landed him in the PAC
