In 1982 Utah travelled to Austin and lost 21-12 to the Shorthorns.  Texas was ranked #18 at the time.   It was Chuck Stobart’s first season at the helm and Ron McBride’s 6th as OC. Utah would go on to have a disappointing WAC conference season, finishing 2-4 in the WAC, and 5-6 overall.

You shouldn’t have posted this. Once KSL/Deseret News get hold of this information, they’ll use it to show why Utah has no chance of winning the game.

Stobart’s teams never got blownout but they seldom scored more than 14 points.

Chuck has some respectable teams, but was something like 1-8 in games decided by around a TD or less.

Playing ranked Texas and losing by 9 wasn’t nearly as bad as some of the other results from the 80s in our ‘body bag’ games.

Chuck’s teams hit hard but had trouble scoring points.
