Coaching was good again today. Team was obviously ready to play. Not sure why we tried to get cute near the goal line again… whatever.
QB: Rising did fine, didn’t need to or have a chance to get into a rhythm. Jackson looked really good on his one run. He’s easily as athletic as any of our running backs. That is pretty crazy.
WR: Nice to see…[Read more] -

I don’t think jr. has animosity to Utah, if he does it’s simply because he is a BYU fan. He would just prefer that his players not help his rival school

What? Jr USA huge BYU homer, not Sr.
I said in the post that it was random. The fact that Jr coaches at Orem is relevant because he will actively direct his players to BYU or at least away from Utah.
The story about his dad is only tangentially related, and yes it is random.

You don’t know their family. Like this said, he didn’t say screwed, that is my own interpretation of the events. He was visibly frustrated, but that was like 1 day after he left BYU. Jr. wasn’t involved in any of that and may not have even been told. Matt was there when Sr told us, but jr. was not.
You not understanding the level of their fando…[Read more]

It does make sense, you just don’t understand how someone who’s father was scapegoated by an institution could still be a fan of said institution. Sr. Felt upset about it at the time, but his loyalties to his alma matter eventually won. Jr. is a bigger BYU fan than Sr. ever was.
My story (not the exact wording just the events) are straight from lance sr.

No sr. has always had a good relationship with Whitt, they go way back. His words weren’t screwed, that is my own interpretation of the events.

Lance Sr. Is not the same person as Lance Jr.. Both are still loyal to BYU, but Jr. cares a lot more than Sr. I don’t even know if senior watches football anymore. I used to sit next to Jr. at BYU games. He is very passionate (hotheaded). Great guy, but quite different from his father.
They will always be a BYU family. Dad and boys all played t…[Read more]

Just found out that Lance Reynolds Jr. is coaching as the OC at Orem high. It suddenly makes a lot more sense why we have such a hard time getting guys that play there to give us any attention at all. Lance is for obvious reasons a HUGE BYU homer, and would absolutely do everything in his power to get players to not go to Utah.
One thing that…[Read more] -

Great kid from a great family… No clue if he is going to be a good college football player yet. Obviously didn’t play at Oregon, but I don’t know what their OL situation is this year. Gotta believe he would have started there eventually.
Obviously would have liked him at the UofU, but he was NEVER coming here. As I have stated before he has…[Read more]

chinngiskhaan started the topic Another random post… this time about women's BB in the forum Basketball (Women) 3 years, 8 months ago
While I was searching to find the weight of a particular player, I read up on the bios of all the players. Our WBB coach is doing a very good job recruiting. We have 1 5 star player, and several very highly regarded 4 star players that all were the best players in their respective areas. We have a few players who were at one time at least…[Read more]

That’s kind of nuts. If we play against anyone with a talented traditional big man we are SCREWED. I think the women’s team has a player that is beefier than any on the men’s team… though I can’t verify because they don’t list the weight of the women players.

chinngiskhaan started the topic This is thinking way ahead, but who sits the bowl game if/when we play it? in the forum Football 3 years, 8 months ago
I think it most likely depends on which game we play. If we make the Rose Bowl, I think everyone who is healthy plays. I considered the possibility that Lloyd et al. might sit in this scenario, but they (lloyd in particular) came back for an extra year because of unfinished business and the potential to raise their draft stock. If we make it to…[Read more]

I saw a post from his father that seemed to indicate Carlson had added some weight and muscle. For those of you that watched, did he seem to still struggle with physicality or does his supposedly improved body seem to be helping him?

It’s just the player version of coachspeak.
Everything you are taking as fact is simply conjecture. I have no read to believe that smith was the wrong hire. I like him, I hope he does well. Nobody k own if he is going to do well or not.

Meh… This is what literally every player says when their coaching staff gets replaced. I mean, it makes sense because coaches, like any other professional tend to lose interest/energy/optimism as they stay at one job for several years up until they either leave by choice or get canned, then they are replaced by a new guy who has a renewed sense…[Read more]

I have no idea, he has probably changed a ton just over the last year alone. He’s been given a lot of reasons to rethink his priorities in life.

I don’t know man. After reading Kyle’s comments regarding Patterson’s leaving TCU, he was extremely complementary, even calling him a good friend. Does that mean he’ll coach under Whitt? Nope. However, that perceived animosity was either just a result of the competitive nature of their games, or their relationship changed significantly when both…[Read more]

His longest tenure as a HC was 5 years. That is nowhere near the same thing as staying at the same place for 20+ years (the last 5+ of which were mediocre at best). Also, Erickson took a year or two off prior to joining the Utes. Again, not at all the same situation.

What discussion is there? No sane Utah fan wants Moobs here. He is an asshole with a ton of baggage, we have NO idea if he even wants to coach still… Hiring him would be like hiring Gary Anderson after his several failed HC attempts, except Gary was liked by the Utah staff and players, and he wasn’t given the DC job, he was hired as a position…[Read more]
