2008 National Champ replied to the topic All the Pressure in on USC – Can Utah Take Advantage? in the forum Football 1 year, 9 months ago
I’m too greedy. If I was guaranteed the SC win, I’d still try to find a loophole that would allow wins over the other two.
Might as well just let it play out and enjoy the ride

2008 National Champ replied to the topic The Utes 2023 defense is much improved. Why? in the forum Football 1 year, 9 months ago
My argument was that USC, Oregon, Washington, Arizona and Colorado all have as good or better offenses than they did in 2022 and Utah has not played them yet. Until they do, any conclusions on how good the 2023 defense is are premature.

The best offenses Utah will play in 2023 are still on the schedule. This year’s version looks better but is still susceptible to the big play and 5 of the remaining teams have shown that they are capable of making it hurt.
Many said before the season that this iteration of the Utah D might be one of the best ever but we won’t know because of the…[Read more]

Shame on you. Nevada may be the best 0-7 team in the country 🙂

2008 National Champ replied to the topic State records panel trying to protect TSPP and hurt Utah in the forum Football 1 year, 9 months ago
Once again, the problem is the NCAA. They are forcing the schools to verify compliance so the players have to divulge their contracts to their schools. Which then means that Player contracts that be definition have nothing to do with the school now become available through the public records ruling.

2008 National Champ replied to the topic Cam will not do show today in the forum Football 1 year, 9 months ago
The same things he said in the first 6 or 7 interviews he did:
– He’s close
– He’s working hard
– He’s trying to coach up the guys
– He expects to be back any day nowWhy would it be any less relevant now than it was in August or September?

2008 National Champ replied to the topic Running Back recruiting in the forum Football 1 year, 9 months ago
Yes, I said blue blood and high profile programs. Utah is supposed to be the latter according to this board as they are 2 time defending conference champions, have played in back to back Rose Bowls.,,
What I can’t figure is whether Utah is the little engine that could, continually making more out of less, or are they such a juggernaut that…[Read more]

2008 National Champ replied to the topic Running Back recruiting in the forum Football 1 year, 9 months ago
Top recruits go to programs with incumbent starters every year. This fanbase needs to stop pretending that kids are afraid to come to the hill and compete. That they would instead rather go to a blue blood or higher profile program because it’s easier to find playing time.
Oregon stacks 4* RB’s up like cordwood and supplements with transfers.…[Read more]

2008 National Champ replied to the topic Tight End in the forum Football 1 year, 9 months ago
Each coach has an area of the country where they are the first contact. Once it has been determined that there is interest, the position coach takes over. Shah isn’t recruiting QB’s and Harding isn’t recruiting Corners. The easiest way to figure out which position a kid is being recruited for is to look at their offer page since the lead…[Read more]

2008 National Champ replied to the topic Tight End in the forum Football 1 year, 9 months ago
He has very little to work with right now and what he does have is very inexperienced.
If only there was a guy whose sole focus was making sure that the offense had enough to work with and was properly trained up in case they were needed. Maybe he could even focus on recruiting QB’s and getting them ready. Where would Utah find a guy to fill…[Read more]

no matter what you call it: ponzi, multi-level distributorship.,, Peter has less than he needs to make up for Paul’s inadequacies

2008 National Champ replied to the topic Tight End in the forum Football 1 year, 9 months ago
You’ve got around 60 offensive players and everyone loves to tell me what a genius Ludwig is. If the answer to an inept offense is robbing from the defense instead of figuring out how to make things work with what you already have.,, that’s not an approach that I’m a fan of.
I hope it works but Ponzi schemes have a history of crashing in…[Read more]

2008 National Champ replied to the topic Yahoo midseason awards in the forum Football 1 year, 9 months ago
I would say that the list of kids who actually improve their draft stock by coming back for another year is pretty small. Not that I ever had to make that decision, but I think that if I did I would go at the first opportunity. There’s a few college kids who can make enough off NIL to set themselves up for life. The rest need to go as soon as…[Read more]

2008 National Champ replied to the topic Jonah Elliss gets ESPN midseason All-American HM in the forum Football 1 year, 9 months ago
Elliss has better numbers than both the Edges listed and every justification they gave for Turner applies to Elliss including playing on a defense that is Top 15 in scoring and total defense.
Player A: 7 games, 29 Tackles, 14 solo, 9.5 tackles for loss, 7 sacks, 2 forced fumbles
Player B: 6 games, 20 tackles, 10 solo, 9 tackles for loss, 5.5…[Read more] -
2008 National Champ replied to the topic Whitt said that Rising could come back next year. Do we want that? in the forum Football 1 year, 9 months ago
If the best course of action is Rising in ’24 and a transfer or Wilson in ’25, you might as well clean out the QB room as soon as possible since they are just taking up space.
