I think you forgot to put the last 4 bowls in Whitt’s loss column. He’s 10-5 on his own, 11-5 if you include 2004.

I said something similar above so my apologies for reiterating, but it makes more sense here.
No, Rising’s surgeon has no obligation to tell Utah anything. Unless Rising signs the disclosure form to allow the U Football Medical staff access to his records. I travel around the country for work and have to sign one of those forms every time I go…[Read more]

I’m going out on a limb here but I just don’t believe that Rising was able to keep the extent of his surgery from the Utah medical staff. Maybe you can pretend back pain isn’t as bad, or that you can play through a sprain. But the medical staff not having access to the surgical records and not being involved in what is being done locally to…[Read more]

Is it just fan bias for this keeps coming?
No good QB is going to see the situation at Utah, where Rising may be back at the beginning of the season, and want to sign up for that.
Because I have a hard time believing that a top QB would say to themselves “Utah was #11 in ppg in 2022, has a solid defense that will give me the ball in good…[Read more]

Albus Dumbledore was correct: People find it far easier to forgive others for being wrong than being right.
You are getting downvoted because it’s easier to double down while staying anonymous than admit that you and others were right all the way back to before Spring ball that it was a possibility Rising wouldn’t be ready for the season and that…[Read more]

2008 National Champ replied to the topic What has happened is now past history. How do we move on? in the forum Football 1 year, 10 months ago
Joe Paterno, pre-Sandusky scandal. Many thought that the game had passed him by. From 2000-2004, he had 1 winning season. In 2005 Paterno changed the way he did business and brought in new blood to reinvigorate his program and the next 5 years his record was 51-13 (10.1-2.6).
No matter how good Whitt is, the team has settled into its current…[Read more]

I can see both sides of it but couldn’t tell you which is better. Continuity is always a good thing until it isn’t and you usually don’t figure that out until a couple of years too late. Would Johnson, Rose, Barnes, Howard, Wilson benefit from a younger OC like Ben Arbuckle at WSU (previously Western Kentucky which was putting no-name QB’s into…[Read more]

At the risk of blaspheming, there’s a case to be made that Scott Mitchell wouldn’t get an offer from Utah if he was a current HS senior. 6’6″, 250, not a dual threat. Of the 3 Robo listed, Rising is the biggest at 6-2, 220 and mobile. The Golden Boy’s arm talent was indisputed but his body type and skillset is not in evidence in top FBS…[Read more]

That Barnes continues to get grief on this board is amazing. What has he done wrong besides being from a small town?
The kid walked on and proved himself. He beat out the board favorite, JaQuinden Jackson, who was such a good QB that he moved to running back. He came in on short or no notice and didn’t kill his team against WSU and in…[Read more]

USC, Colorado, Arizona State and Texas State all completely rebuilt their teams using the portal the last two years.
Clayton Isbell, Gabe Reid, Mohamoud Diabate, Landon Morris, Logan Kendall, Briton Allen, Landen King, Mycah Pittman, Emery Simmons, Cole Becker, Miles Battle, Logan Fano, and Levani Damuni all came out of the portal the last two…[Read more]

No one forced you to follow your doctor’s treatment and recovery plan. You have the option to ignore his recommendations if you so desire.
For Rising to play for Utah, he has to get approval from the Utah medical staff. Apparently that has already happened which is why he is practicing. His surgeon disagrees. Rising has the option to choose…[Read more]

2008 National Champ replied to the topic Maybe Bartle will be believed in the forum Football 1 year, 10 months ago
Utah losing Bartle’s unconditional support is like Putin losing Pravda. The next time I read something of Bartle’s that doesn’t spin any situation into the best possible outcome for Utah will now be the second.

2008 National Champ replied to the topic Utah's Offense is Worse Than Expected in the forum Football 1 year, 10 months ago
numbers don’t lie, unless you want them to. Should I compare Utah’s offense against Washington State? They’ve played the toughest schedule to date in adjusted opponent win % and are #5 in ppg and #6 in ypg.

2008 National Champ replied to the topic Utah's Offense is Worse Than Expected in the forum Football 1 year, 10 months ago
Strength of Schedule isn’t a good indicator of why Utah’s offense is so bad, especially this early in the season. It might be better to look at how Utah has done against their opponents v everyone else against the same.
Excluding FCS and Utah: Opponent, Utah yds (Opp allowed yards), Utah pts (Opp allowed pts).
Florida – 270 (332), 24…[Read more]

Subscribers to https://t.co/pU2IPrM4aR know that, since mid-August, we have written that the attempted secession from the ACC union is likely to commence during the 2023 season. And three days ago we wrote that it's likely to happen in October.

Also this from a Florida State site.
If Clemson, Florida State, North Carolina and probably Miami decide to dump the ACC, it may be superconference time sooner than most expected. That would blow up all the recent moves and put everything back on the table including Utah to the Big…[Read more]

2008 National Champ replied to the topic QB rumors I heard on the radio this morning in the forum Football 1 year, 10 months ago
It’s not uncommon for the patient to be nowhere near the surgeon while rehabbing. My dad had back surgery down here in Arizona but lives in Washington half the year. He does periodic web meetings and when the surgeon wants a scan, x-ray, etc. he gets it done locally and it is sent to the surgeon. They then decide when and how much more he can…[Read more]
