2008 National Champ replied to the topic The Colorad9 game got 6 day window'ed. in the forum Football 1 year, 8 months ago
I vote for a 9:30pm start. Then the people who have been unhappy with so many day games this year can get a start time more to their liking.

there’s that pesky “we” again. there was a vocal minority who felt that the projections for CR and BK were extremely on the optimistic side given the nature of their injuries.

2008 National Champ replied to the topic DailyTrojan article wondering if it’s too late to turn back in the forum Football 1 year, 8 months ago
to be fair, it’s not like SC is missing talent on defense. The right coach could turn that around in a hurry, assuming the kids buy in.

So much of what is heard during a broadcast is just filler. The talking heads get maybe an hour with each head coach during the week but make it sound like they’ve been in meetings and watching practice.
Don’t get me wrong, it can’t be an easy job to pretend for 4 hours like you are knowledgeable about both teams. But they get caught up in…[Read more]

Help me out on what I’m missing. I think we agree that Utah never offered Dart.

I don’t think I missed the point, at least the one that you posted. You may have had something else in mind. I do that all the time. But I quoted verbatim.
Rising may be great next year. None of knows. But Cam Rising wasn’t going to have this team 9-1 right now. If you read your 1st point as if anyone but you had written it, you’d agree…[Read more]

2008 National Champ replied to the topic Jaxson Dart to Utah? in the forum Football 1 year, 8 months ago
Dart was never offered by Utah. His options were to take the best offer available, which was USC, or walk-on at Utah. He wasn’t coming to Salt Lake no matter what.
Maybe he transfers, maybe he doesn’t. I can’t say one way or another. But if people think he’s worried about Rising, there’s nothing in his history that says he’s afraid of…[Read more]

ahh, the fabled “halftime adjustment” conundrum. Halftime is 20 minutes. At least 5 minutes of that is the team warming up on the field for the 2nd half. Another 5 minutes at least is everyone lining up to go to the bathroom and rehydrating. That leaves about 5 minutes for each position coach to reiterate the same things they’ve been telling…[Read more]

There should be at least 90% of the starting lineup from Saturday returning for 2024. Damuni and Vele should be out of eligibility and I think Laumea and Battle. 18 of 22 starters that have been largely responsible for 7-3 this season.
Of the “out for season” crew, Barton is definitely back but unless someone tells me the extent of his injury…[Read more]

If we had Rising this year, we have one loss, at worst.
Cam Rising is not capable of playing next week, last week, or any of the weeks that have passed by this season. People need to stop pretending like Cam Rising of 2021 or 2022 could have won games this year that were lost by the team on the field. You weren’t going to get that version,…[Read more]

2008 National Champ replied to the topic Any chance Ludwig retires at the end of the season? in the forum Football 1 year, 8 months ago
^^^ 100% this.
Were Ludwig to leave, Whitt would just find the next closest thing to Ludwig he could. He’s running exactly the type of offense Whitt wants him to, and doing it better than the 294 OC’s Whitt went through between 2009 and 2018.
I’d much rather pair a scheme like UW ran today with Utah’s defense but I don’t get a vote.

2008 National Champ replied to the topic Refs in the forum Football 1 year, 8 months ago
Always are. Though I am surprised the Tunuufi hit to Barnes wasn’t reviewed for targeting. The refs even announced forcible contact to the head or neck when they called roughing.
That was more indicative than the Fotu hit, in my opinion, since the returner was not defenseless.

Yeah. 4 plays, 2 TD’s isn’t saying much for the coaching change

2008 National Champ replied to the topic Death, taxes, and losing to Washington in the forum Football 1 year, 8 months ago
Didn’t they also call targeting on Leki and he had to sit out the rest of the game?
Not to mention Pita Tonga fumbling away a pick 6 in the same game.

I think I’d point to the safety. Just not sure of why you put the QB under center there and then give it to Jackson 6 yards deep. Only takes one breakdown to blow that one up.

2008 National Champ replied to the topic That was one hell of a game in the forum Football 1 year, 8 months ago
Had the ball with the chance to tie or take the lead. If I’d told you 3 weeks ago that would be the situation.,,
Sometimes the other team scores more points. No shame in giving your all and coming up just short.

2008 National Champ replied to the topic Riley said Jackson is going to play today in the forum Football 1 year, 8 months ago
He finished both the CAL and SC games. I don’t think there has been a game where he hasn’t had to limp to the sidelines at least once.
It’s not just the hits. Every time a tackler gives the ankle a twist while he’s on the ground aggravates it.
