I know some of you think that the 60 in 60 is a waste of time. I think it is fun to see what the media predicts and to see what actually happens during the season. Obviously, they were way off last season due to injuries.
Which Utes do you expect to be in the top ten this summer? As for me:
Definite top ten
Rising
Kuithe
Barton
ReidPossible…[Read more]

ProudUte replied to the topic Utah offers Hans Olsen's son in the forum Football 11 months, 1 week ago
Hans is a former BYU player, and he is now their color guy. He played with Kalani. Obviously, he is a BYU fan. But, he has never been a Utah hater and has great respect for Whitt and Harding.
In my opinion, this kid would be a good get. We have flipped other BYU legacy kids, and I hope we can flip this kid. I know he is no Fano. I don’t expect…[Read more]

ProudUte started the topic How I used my Utah fandom to get a job in the forum Misc 11 months, 1 week ago
A number of years ago I was applying for a fairly prestigious job. I got included in (with two other people) the final interviews. There was a group of four people doing the interview. The two who would ultimately make the decision were diehard BYU fans. The HR Director who was present in the interview, was a Ute fan.
At the end of a fairly…[Read more]

I have know idea where he will end up, but you can’t teach that kind of size. He needs to develop. if Utah gets him and he enrolls in January, we will get him in the weight room and start working on his skills. He already plays for a very good high school coach and program.

I heard that coach Harding gave a scholarship offer to Hans Olsen’s son. He is a big boy. I hear he is 6’7″ and 315 pounds.

ProudUte replied to the topic What would be the absolute WORST music to to play when the Utes take the field? in the forum Football 11 months, 1 week ago
I think we should play a song from Mary Poppins when the opposing team comes on the field. 🙂

Nice! 🙂

Let me first say that I believe it should be up to the players. Whatever gets them pumped. I am old guy and my choices would probably not resonate with them.
That being said, my choices would be:
Eye of the Tiger
Take Me On (Music only)Again, I am an old guy. What would you pick?

ProudUte replied to the topic Worst parts of the game day experience and how to fix them? in the forum Football 11 months, 2 weeks ago
It’s not just a Utah football thing. Admittedly it’s not a BYU thing. However, everywhere I have gone to games there are some overly drunk fans that take away from the game. The worst one was at a Utah State game in the early 1980s. But, I have seen it at Cal, Oregon, Michigan, Florida, etc.

I will probably get some thumbs down for this. But, I hate it when some people (the minority) come into the game totally plastered. They don’t know up from down and can at times become obnoxious. One game, a guy behind us was so drunk, he vomited all over my son and me. Another game, a lady close to us would moon the crowd each time the…[Read more]

The death of Jerry West got me thinking about my favorite pro teams from my childhood. I have always been a Utes/Redskins fan. Here are my favorite pro teams when I was a kid.
Basketball – This was in the 60s and early 70s (long before the Utah Jazz). I was a big Lakers fan with Jerry West, Elgin Baylor, Wilt, etc. It was so frustrating…[Read more]

Hard to argue with most of your picks. Like TanUte, I think Singer may be the offensive player of the year not named Rising. However, I am fine if it turns out to be Kuithe.
I don’t under Huard being your surprise player of the year. I hope Rising stays healthy and we don’t see Huard. Also, I hope that Wilson is QB2. I think he is our…[Read more]

ProudUte replied to the topic Which away football atmosphere did you enjoy the most? in the forum Football 11 months, 2 weeks ago
I liked the Big House in 2002. There was a nice Utah tailgate on the golf course next to the stadium. I found the Michigan fans welcoming, and I thought it was great that the band marched on the field playing “Utah Man am I.” One totally drunk Utah fan made a fool of himself, and the Utah fans started to bo him.
We had a good time at Oregon in…[Read more]

I agree with you on BYU, but I do not understand your thinking on Arizona. They have a great QB and an All-American WR. They lost their coach, but they did not lose a lot of players to UW like was rumored. I think UA will be a top-4 team.
