I admit that after the debacle at Oregon State, I had little hope for our injure-riddled team. I did not see how we could compete with the elite PAC12 teams. I saw some positive things against Cal, but last night really gave me hope.

I say no we have not.

He has always had someone looking over his shoulder and really has not been the long-term starter. Now he is the guy for the next 6 games, he will have a chance to develop and gain confidence.

That really hurts. Dumuni needs to step it up now. He has the experience we need. He just isn’t the complete athlete that Barton is.

This is just one old guy’s opinion. I think Ritchie and Bishop can handle the safety positions. Vaki has made this offense go. Vaki is also a great defensive player but he is amazing on offense!!! We need him on offense if we hope to win against Oregon and UW.

Barnes has developed. He played badly against Baylor and the coaches made a change at QB. Barnes made a huge mistake on the pick-6, but overall he has a stud.

Remember when Lloyd missed the first half of a game two years ago? Whitt decided he wanted the ball first in that game. If Utah wins the toss today, do they take the ball and hope for a 7-minute drive? Obviously, Whitt wants to limit the USC possessions with Bishop absent.

They talked up Utah’s defense but made it perfectly clear that Utah has little offense without Cam Rising.

Our 2022 defense was not great last year and that was with an offense that kept the ball longer than the 2023 offense. Why are we so much better?

We lost an All-American CB.
We lost a starting linebacker.
We lost a starting safety, but I think Vaki is much better than Herbert was on his best day.

I think that most of your points are valid. I think the stat about road wins against bowl teams is almost meaningless because they were all played in different years and a variety of different circumstances. Would we feel better about a home game? Of course, we would.

Dave Bartoo, a successful college football and NFL statistical analyst made an odd prediction on Riley’s show.

He said if USC has a false-start on their first possession tomorrow, Utah will win the game.

Let’s see what happens.

I love what I saw with Vaki last Saturday. I hope he gets at least 10 carries and a couple of catches against USC. However, whenever he is in the game – USC will stack the box. We need to do some play-action when he is lined up as a back. Also, it would be fun to see him pass the ball out of the wildcat package.

I agree. Kuithe and Rising aren’t doing the interviews. Give some other guys the chance, like Vele and Bishop.

Rising has been a great Ute and took us to two Rose Bowls. But, I am ready to move on past all of the rumors, tweets, lies, etc. (I am not saying Cam has lied, but someone has.)

Riley said that Cam called him and said that he did not feel comfortable doing the weekly interview today.

I imagine it would be difficult to do these weekly interviews under the circumstances. Everyone can read into it what they want.

Too early to tell about last year’s group.

Unfortunately, Glover has not been what we had thought he might be. Hopefully, he can turn that around.
