I relocated to Longmont a little over a year ago and am thinking of making the trip up. It is a little under 2 hours from my place (Longmont is about 45 minutes south of Fort Collins). I am thinking of going but need to see what tickets are like. How many are you traveling with, Tony? If you are flying solo or in a really small group, I could see if we have a space to crash at my place for you.

I’ve done the Denver – Cheyenne – Salt Lake drive a half dozen times each way and there isn’t much to keep you awake. Getting hotel rooms in Laramie is probably the same as Pullman, small town cashing in on limited accommodations.

It’s an 8 ET game so you’d probably be getting in to Denver around midnight or later. I guess it depends on the rest of your trip. With my own car, I’d stay in Cheyenne after the game and then leisurely drive down to Denver for your concert. But if you are flying, probably cheapest to stay two nights in Denver and return the rental car to the same place you got it.

Laramie is just one of those places that isn’t close to anywhere so I don’t know that there is a good solution. Just the best of a bunch of bad ones.

RB game is to be determined. Beck will not check Utah’s history but will probably do what he says, adapt to the talent. We could run in games to kill the clock but will mostly do what the game situation dictates. Whitt, I think, will initially let Beck do his thing and does not want to go down with previous offensive strategies. Right out of the shoot, UCLA will defend one or the other better and we will take what they give us.

The running game will be divided up between the RB, the QB, and I expect Andrews and Johnson may take some sweeps so possibly we run a bunch but RB1’s carries could be an average load. I do expect Dampier to run less than last year because there are more weapons.
