This just proves that most of the pac12 has trash defense…..
How does this list prove that?
Is that conference games or does it include SUU and SDSU?
It is total Utah is 37th in the country.

I’m wondering if that stat is slightly misleading because the opponents have started near mid field instead of their own 25 due to our kickoff coverage lapses.
Ouch.
That is an excellent question! Probably figures into it. Sad but likely true!
Against P5 offenses: 451, 267, 417, 502, 556 or 438.6 per game. WSU, Arizona and Oregon are going to get their yards so I doubt the 350-ish number goes down before the end of the year.
For reference, 2021 averaged 343 yards and 22.6 pts so this years’ 350.1 and 22.3 are in line with what many thought was a pretty good defense if you are just looking at raw numbers. The reality is this year there’s been 3 really good performances and 4, ummm, not so much. 2021 was 317/game until the Rose Bowl. 2019 was 269.4, 2018 was 316.6.
Could it be possible that the young defense will get better as the year fills out? Could the defense benefit if the offense gets a run game going better to run the clock? Unless our arrow begins to point down I expect our numbers to improve somewhat.
Utah should improve until Oregon on November 19.
