It has indeed been a great ride. I love what KW has done for Utah football. In fact, no one has done more for Utah football than Whitt. Winning cures a lot of ills…. always does. I’m cautiously optimistic about this year and hoping the team is relatively injury free and the O-Line is cracked up to be the force everyone expects it to be. It’s as close to an NFL line as Utah has ever had, that means trouble for the opposition.

If I had to guess at one cause, I’d say it’s the successful year they had down south.

Our 2023 was disappointing, but we were still the best team in the state. In 2024, we were not. That’s probably raised some blood pressure around here.

Honestly, I’m going to tell you what I told BYU football fans for so many years when they were fixated on their success in the 1970s, 80s and a chunk of the 90s: I don’t care. It’s not relevant to me what a program did 30 years ago. If you have to reach back that far, you’re losing the argument and you look desperate doing it.

I was wondering the same. Another possibility would be to completely sub out the OL in game situations when the Utah win is no longer in doubt. Hopefully that is the case near the end of several games with the most sets in Provo.

OL rarely rotate except in the situations you identified.

I would hope they had more success. They played 3 or 4 tough games a year. Winning 20 games playing WCC competition does not make you a better program. Utah was playing a much harder schedule. You saying BYU is on par with Gonzaga based on the past 15 years? BYU was in the worst league with Gonzaga.
