Nate may have been injured at some point last season, but if I recall correctly Bottari started due to Barnes being injured and Nate Johnson had left the program for the portal at that point. Hope he’s getting playing time wherever he is.

The probability of using a 5th string QB in a season is small. The likelihood of using a 5th string QB in consecutive seasons is small multiplied by small (I guess?).
For example, if the probability is one percent that a 5th string QB is used in a season (I have no idea if that one percent is correct or not), then the probability is 1 in 10,000…[Read more]

Perhaps the injuries come from running qbs to hard. We need an offense that works better with them.

A typical team will experience 3 season ending injuries each year. We have more than that at QB alone.
I mentioned this a few weeks ago, that accelerated muscle development can create increased torque that tendons are unprepared to support. The same holds true for quick weight gain. A staple of a KW team has been shifting players into…[Read more]

That’s the point of this and things that must go. Vent and then let it go.

Wasn’t Nate Johnson injured as well? That would’ve made Bottari 5th String against CU last year.

The three maybe four (Wilson tbd?) QB injuries needing surgery in the same season has to be a record. Never seen anything like it. Expect to see Huard, Wilson, and Rose head to the transfer portal on 12/9 or soon after.

I’d really like to know why Utah has so many injuries lately, especially quarterbacks.
Some like to blame the turf, but many teams play on turf. Some like to blame Under Armor, but there are other teams that use Under Armor.
Having seen some of the injuries on video, there doesn’t really seem to be anything unusual. Cam Risings latest injury…[Read more]

I recall TDS playing a 4th string QB in a bowl game in 1992.

Scalley and Jay Hill as DC would be my realistic and most ideal.
OC no way in hell do I want Dan Mullen. I am game for whatever. 2025 will probably be an improvement over this disaster offense.

I’d like to see a chart or some statistics comparing Utah Football injuries to other teams.

Dang. Sounds like we probably can’t score enough to win.

I’m all for giving Scalley a chance for a few years. I believe he knows the DNA of this program. Culture, recruiting, etc. Some view that as a weakness or problem that he will follow Whitt’s footsteps too much, others want him to be Whitt 2.0. I think he’ll give s a really good shot moving forward. He’s smart, he’s charismatic, he seems to be a…[Read more]

They apparently have the top rated offense in the conference in terms of total yards and one of the best RBs. They average almost 250 rushing yards and 200 passing yards per game. Their RB has rushed for almost 1500 yards and 21 TDs.
They are middle of the pack stats wise for Defense.

So anytime I hear about a boss who is labeled an asshole…my first reaction is “I get it. You want to get stuff done, you have to be an asshole.”
To a point, sure. But I’ve worked with way too many “leaders” whose only two modes were “Off” and “1000% Asshole”.
There definitely needs to be a balance, unless you’re fine with simply churning throu…[Read more]

See you at Alta, but the game is at 6PM.

Yeah, it will also be interesting to see if the team shows up to get a win, or is already checked out. Also, will they bother with a #2 quarterback, or just let Bernard take over if Bottari needs to come out of the game (or just start punting on first down)? I think I’m going to Alta, so hopefully someone will post a summary.

Trailgoat replied to the topic Britain Covey in the forum NFL 8 months ago
Borderline block in the back. Being engaged with the DB straight up first probably waived the flag from the ref. Covey seemed to let up at the right time. Not a new take, Covey has a very high football IQ. The past two years have shown more and more the significant impact he had on Utah football.

I really no nothing about them. Like, I think they’re located in Orlando. No idea what their team is like or what their strengths/weaknesses are.
