I’m not sure Retzlaff would do any better than guys like Rose or Isaac in this offense. Rose, for example has a better arm and wheels than Retzlaff. Remember that Utah under Whitt is where QBs go to die…

That is why a fall break trip last year centered around getting to LA for likely the last in a looooong time game there. Me and my son went and it’s a priceless memory.

Not to mention being able to drive to LA for a game and then beating them in the Coliseum…priceless…nothing in the Big 12 will ever be able to replace that for me.

The first part of the contact simply looked like a push from behind which is illegal contact. The clip does not show the second half of the contact. This is the problem. We keep talking about the hold but forget that the defense allowed BYU to go 90+ yards twice to score and the offense couldn’t score in the 2nd half or even get a first down to win the game.

Even more unfortunately, his brother Blake was his equal and took medical retirement from football due to injury I think his freshman year. With him as a DE we should have almost always had a Kuithe on the field. A great deal of talent from Katy Tx that did not make it past the injury bug.

Also note that the contact that took him to the ground began long before the pass was thrown which clearly is a hold at the least. Kuithe had been on the ground for a bit before the ball entered the frame. A guess is the contact high helped him down but I suspect that stepping on his ankle was more likely to cause the injury.

I have no issue being in the Big 12 but I do miss the rivalry that was developed with USC. I have a lot of coworkers who are USC fans and that created a lot of fun at work over the years.
