A&M proved that raw dollars don’t translate to wins but I’d be surprised if it didn’t help.

12-0 every year is a strawman argument. You’re better than that
I think you need to have two things to attract 2nd tier talent consistently which is something Utah currently aspires to:
1 – You need to be a place kids want to play. I define that as consistently winning more than you lose, competing for conference championships regularly, and a…[Read more]

From Georgia-
Wow, so it happens everywhere?
A sec team has to deal with an 18 year old kid changing his mind and or getting a bigger bag of money from somewhere else. -

Dang I just watched the highlights of that game, and the TCU kicker really choked the game away.

Others to consider:
1994 Utah 34 – BYU 31 (Second 34-31 game, share of the conference title, and validated the previous year’s win)
2003 Utah 31 – California 24 (Alex Smith vs Aaron Rodgers, Utes win on a late touchdown run by Warfield)
2004 Utah 41 – Texas A&M 21 (Beginning of the 2004 BCS busting year, announcing to the world just how good Utah…[Read more] -

When the dust settles with NIL the distribution of players will more or less be the same. Some universities who can pony up a bit more may grow in power, some less.
The real problem is that it’s going to become much easier for the bigger programs to poach our best players. Breakout defensive stud sets our sack record? Well, we are already paying…[Read more]

Reid is on the DJ/PK show every Monday. Every week since he’s been injured he is always asked if he will be back on the field playing in next game coming up. Every time Reid gives a non-answer (he’s been definitely schooled by the coaching staff to not give a yes or no answer). Well this past Monday, instead of being asked the same “will you be…[Read more]

Addy… did I say guarantee? Of course they shift. C’mon man! Probabilities are just that. You might want to look at my last statement again, though. Or, do you want to just take an L right now?

Phil Knight is worth over $36B…no collective anywhere will ever outbid Oregon if there’s a guy out there that they really want.

According to BETMGM Vegas betting site, the Utes are a -4.5 (-110) point favorite to defeat TCU this weekend.
This implies 67.8% confidence the Utes will prevail. Not set in stone but worthy of enthusiasm. See you at the game!

Let’s not do this to ourselves anymore. Because no matter the answer we get, we still don’t know. The Whittlight Zone has fried our brains when it comes to injuries. Whoever runs out Saturday is who’s playing.

Incorrect. That was USC these past few years, but it seems that they now realize their brand name alone and blueblood status isn’t going to recruit itself like it did 20 or even 10 years ago. No kid is gonna choose USC and no money over Oregon and 50k just because USC is a blueblood. USC started falling behind, but from what I’ve seen a few peo…[Read more]

You know, now that players can leave programs whenever they want as many times as they want, don’t you think that schools should be able to cut or let go players who haven’t performed adequately? It’s a brutal concept because, for a lot of these guys, there’s no way that they’d be able to go to school without a football scholarship. And maybe…[Read more]

Yup. Utah at the moment is a top level player developer for the blue crew. Enjoying the rest of the season. It’s been a good run.

I’m not disagreeing with you. It’s just that USC also isn’t stupid. Sure, they overpay, but they overpay for guys who come with proven credentials, not players who haven’t played a down of college football.
