If Cam wants an 8th year I would prefer he do it somewhere else. Wilson is now going to have 9 starts under his belt assuming he makes it through the season and he should be the guy going into next year. You can’t have Cam taking any NIL money after this season.

When the injury bug started to seem suspicious to my eye I started thinking about unique factors about Utah that could contribute and that one jumped out right away. Statistics will get you. The farther we stray from an expected value of injuries the more improbable it becomes that there isn’t an underlying cause cause. I don’t know if robust injury data exists for CFB but if it did it would be interesting to put together some analysis. The sniff test tells me something’s going on.

I posted in that thread, but Wilson is 100% Utah’s as long as the season goes well. If he’s the starter and playing and getting better, there is no reason for him to leave. If he’s the backup or getting 50% of the reps and not getting the chance to be the man, then I 100% see him leaving.

With the news from Whitt, I’m not worried about Wilson at all.

Bummed for Cam, he certainly didn’t envision his last year going like this. I wish him the best and I wouldn’t be upset to see him play again if he can.

Moving forward, it’s nice to have some certainty and predictability. Whit hasn’t handled the injuries piece well. Hope this is a change of culture.
