ParticipantI still am hoping it will, but it’s looking less likely. We’ll see, but I’m far less optimistic.

ParticipantHuh? It’s looking better now than it did two days ago…
Good news for PAC 12 -

ParticipantI hate to say it, but I think you’re right.
We will be lucky to get one or two weekends of college football before it gets shutdown. Unfortunately, Utah isn’t scheduled to play in the first two weeks. Realistically, the whole season probably gets shut down sometime in the next two weeks.

ParticipantI think that Aloha may be right.
The MAC just dropped fall sports. Most FCS conferences have dropped fall sports. I know the MAC is not a Power 5 conference, but they are an FBS conference. I would not be surprised to see other FBS conferences deciding to drop fall sports.
All of that being said, I think every attempt will be made to play college football. There is ‘hope’ that we have a viable vaccine before the end of the year. If we do get a vaccine, then I believe they will play football starting in February. I know that there are many who say, you cannot do this because bodies will not have time enough to heal before next fall. I think the season may be an 8 game season (if in the winter) and possibly an 8 team playoff with no bowls. This means that the season would be over by early April for all but 8 teams.
I love college football and I hope we see it, even if it is played this winter/spring.
Go Utes!!!

ParticipantI would rather they just skip a year than have them play it in the Spring. There’s just something about football in the Fall that would be missing by playing in the Spring.

ParticipantAgreed. If they’re not playing in the fall, just cancel the season and prep for next year. It sucks for seniors but what can you do?
-
UteThunder
ParticipantIt would be heartless, but I say you grant everyone an extra year of eligibility and then have the coaches cut up to 25 kids to make room for the incoming Freshmen.

ParticipantNot me. I would prefer it in the fall, but I would take it in the winter/spring if that was the only option.

ParticipantStop f**king bitching about what might not happen. Gawddamnit! We’re grinding through this. I went to a football “blue and orange” high school kickoff game last night and it was fine. The Ute season will happen or be postponed, but there’s nothing we can do about it except have these s**tty fearful posts that do Nothing except focus on the negative. Consider the lillies of the the goddamned field. If canceled there are other options.

ParticipantTake it easy. People are just talking.

ParticipantHard to see college football getting past a couple weeks. The deciding factor seems to be transmission/positive test results. In the current climate, that rising metric is almost unavoidable.
