I had friends in California tell me Rattler from Oklahoma was going to UCLA. I looked it up, yes it said he was committed. Then I just saw on ESPN he’s going to South Carolina. What a bunch of clowns.
Looking forward to just watching football and not caring about these young guys who might be so misdirected it’s like, careful where you step. We need MEN who aren’t scared where they step at the U.
That said, I would like to see a stop with the 5 star stuff. Someone please share the % of 5 star to NFL from highschool compared to the 4 star. NFL loves 5 stars, but they rarely make it. NFL might want to stay out of high school.
It’s silly to say they rarely make it. From 2000-2020 more than 50% of 5 stars were drafted. That figure drops to about 20% for 4 stars. So yes the 5 star recruit label still holds its value.
Silly, go from the social media era. Say 2010-2020. How about since ESPN started dipping into highschool about 8 years ago? We need more data than your random post. These are 16-18 year olds, man!
Edit: Didn’t realize this fella created an account just to respond to my post. Are you ESPN? Someone who digs deep into 14 year old kids lives? Only to dump them if they don’t cut your star ranking? Bunch of pukes. I’ll continue watching these ZERO stars Utah keeps molding into PROS!
Ok? Figures from 2011-2016 show the same thing. 51% of 5 stars drafted to the NFL. The 5 star system obviously works.
My sources are Bleacher Report, Sports Illustrated, and 247Sports btw. Not just throwing random numbers out there.
You’re definitely not a Utah fan. We want factual data with links. Otherwise, we want the #Uboyz to show you a whipping.
Edit: If you’re a future opponent of the Utah Utes football team. Know this: They will beat your team twice. Win or lose, they will whip your team silly.
And of course I’m a Ute fan. What does this have to do with me being a Ute fan or not? We’re talking about national 5 star recruits has nothing to do with Utah Football right now.
You are wrong. Each year less and less 5 stars to pad the stats you claim. Please share a full data sheet. 5 stars is a total FAIL. Thanks to ESPN
The number of 5 star recruits is consistently in the low-mid 30’s each year. I just checked every year since 2000 on 247Sports. 5 star recruits are more successful at a higher rate than all other recruits. The system obviously works. Don’t let the recency bias of Spencer Rattler throw out 20 years of solid data. Go Utes!
I’ll help you. Here’s the top recruits from 2015. How many 5 stars made it in The League? Definitely not 50%. #34 definitely #1. Recruiting rankings are nothing when following 14-17 year olds.
Ok, so in 2015, taking a look at those 5 stars
Guys that made the NFL include Trenton Thompson, Bryan Cowart, Iman Marshall, Derwin James, Khalil McKenzie, Josh Sweat, Kevin Toliver II, Malik Jefferson, Josh Rosen, Calvin Ridley, Terry Becker Jr, Daylon Mack, Deon Cain, Kendall Sheffield, Rasheem Green, Christian Wilkins, Christian Kirk, Chuma Edoga, Terry Godwin, DaRon Payne, Minkah Fitzpatrick, Damien Harris, Kyler Murray, and Kyle Phillips.
So that’s 24 of the 37 listed as 5 stars. Maybe a better year than normal even. Lots of guys who didn’t become NFL stars, but you’ve also got Kyler Murray, Minkah Fitzpatrick, Derwin James, Calvin Ridley, Damien Harris, DaRon Payne and others there who are very good and major contributors
33 made it to prison.
#33 not 33 of them.

I think Johnny has a history of occasional drunk posting on this site. I think this may be one of those times.

My response…
I was just thinking the same thing, that I don’t think he ever posts sober….
this dude is not your enemy 🙂
You create a post with no data to back up your claim, then you proceed to insult @zeebsmeta when they actually provide a response with data to counter your claim? Not a good look @Johnny.
I am confused by this thread. However, I am often confused, so never mind.
This was a no contest – zeebsmeta by TKO and it wasn’t even close. Johnny still not even sure what state he is in lol.
Yeah pretty great read this morning, nice work Zeebs
