      The publicity is nice.  However, IMO there should be no polls until October 1st.

      Polls are pretty much numbers with little meaning until a number of games have been played.

      But certainly Utah has some of highest expectations ever seen for our program.

            Thanks for clarifying. I’m not surprised a coach (or, more likely, their assistant) didn’t take their pre-season vote seriously, it would have been different to see an AP voter do the same.

            Regardless, pre-season polls are just this side of pointless and Texas is perennially overrated.

      When Utah has been ranked in the preseason top 25 where have they ended the season? Higher or lower?

        3 up, 1 down, 1 covid season all time.  Lots of historical data points to gauge future performance.

      Of course the poll have more meaning after every week.  Still, most people will begin to rank what they think they see starting in August.  Each week adds data points with the last week being the most important.  Every poll will get a great deal of interest.
