They are the 7th-ranked FCS team.

They scored more points against Northern Iowa (34) than our future conference partner, Iowa State.

They are a run-first team. They have a very good running back, Damon Bankston, who is averaging 7.5 yards per carry.

Some of their best players from 2022 followed Jay Hill to BYU.

Their weakness on defense appears to be their passing defense. They gave up over 300 yards passing against Northern Iowa.

Both of their games were very close or tied at halftime. They blew out both teams in the second half.

They are a very good FCS team, but we are a very good BCS team. So, we should win. I am sure Whitt and the coaching staff will use this game to work out some of the kinks we have seen in the 1st two weeks. I hope we get a good first-half lead and allow the backups to get some playing time. The exception to this should be Nate Johnson. We need to get him as many reps as possible if Cam does not play.

Also, they have a return guy who has 5 returns for TDs. (Remember the last time we played Weber – they had a kickoff return for a TD.) We had better kick the ball into the endzone.

Weber is getting paid $650,000 to play this game.

I don’t mind these FCS games but they’re better when they’re the first game. It’s a little bit of a letdown after Florida and Baylor, even though we need an easier game right now

Nah, this is perfect. If Weber State was game 1, Barnes probably takes half that game time and we don’t find out that he needs to be benched. Now Nate can get all those reps and experience.

Based on what you are saying this is a really good chance for Johnson to get some reps passing.

Also the silver linings of playing Florida and Baylor first really helped the Coaches decide on who to put in as Risings backup.
