chinngiskhaan started the topic Maybe I'm crazy, but it seems like our recruiting strategy has shifted big time in the forum Football 3 years ago
It seems like our 2023 class is filling out early relative to the classes of the previous few years… and it seems like the majority of our current 2023 commits have little to no P5 offers… or offers from P5s that are significantly worse than us in football.
Why is this happening? Is NIL forcing us out of the running for higher profile…[Read more] -
chinngiskhaan started the topic Anyone know if we should be expecting anyone else to join the team this fall in the forum Football 3 years, 1 month ago
I’m just assuming that this flurry of signings in the last week or so must mean we’re pretty much all tapped out schollie wise. Is that a fair assumption?
If so, I think we did a good job of adding depth where it needed to be added. WR, S, and of course PUNTERRRRRR. -

I guess that’s a good thing. We lost a couple of safeties to graduation I believe. Added depth here seems like a good thing indeed.

They aren’t bad… just saying, even if they were bad, we’d still be a great team.

chinngiskhaan replied to the topic NIL in the forum Football 3 years, 2 months ago
I can’t fathom why any school or athlete would want things to be that way. What you are suggesting makes no sense at all. Do you not understand/remember why or how NIL came to be in the first place?
Give them the option of a schollie or NIL but not both? I’m assuming you are under the impression that your way would allow the wealth to be spread…[Read more]

chinngiskhaan started the topic My thoughts on the spring game in the forum Football 3 years, 2 months ago
It was nice to see the offenses move the ball. The few other times I’ve sat down to watch the spring game the offense has seriously struggled to move the ball on at least one of the teams. That wasn’t the case this time. The offenses didn’t dominate though, which is also good.
I’m especially impressed with our RB and TE groups. It just seems like…[Read more] -

JJ had 2 great TD throws. Both are good. Barnes is more polished, but Jackson has better tools to work with IMO.

He could potentially make the team a lot better, a bit better at least

He was 18 and being manipulated by grown men. He offers shooting and rebounding. At the very least he’s a step up from Battin in virtually every way.

Though he hasn’t played well at TSPP

Not sure what nm means… but I’d take Lohner. He offers a lot of what we need

It is super easy to like that guy. Also, he mentioned a commit that they have secured that hasn’t been made public yet. Any ideas who that might be??

chinngiskhaan replied to the topic For those of you who are uncomfortable with the helmets in the forum Football 3 years, 3 months ago
I will say this. It’s entirely possible that tge players, knowing what mama Lowe said to them, would have a positive reaction to seeing their faces next to them on the football field. Seems to me (again, I don’t know anything) that these helmets will be a motivation rather than an emotional trigger.
Though I can see family members not wanting tge…[Read more]

Well, that’s exactly my point. If the players want it, it should happen. If they don’t, it should not. My assumption is that the university is doing this for the right reasons. Big assumption, I know.

For any reason, you are (in my possibly wrong opinion) wrong. First and foremost, I dont like the idea of a bunch of onlookers telling people who watched their friend get brutally murdered that they’ve mourned long enough. Who are any of us to suggest how they should or shouldn’t be handling these very traumatic events?
Second, I think they look…[Read more] -

So what is the point of your reply? Agree? Disagree? I think these helmets definitely Fall on the side of letting things take their course naturally. It was an excellent idea whoever they decided to do it, likely many months ago. It’s still a great idea now. Most of the guys on the team know them still. It’s been just over a year since Ty pas…[Read more]

I’d be ok with Johnson due to his potential, but we really need strong rebounding bugs and 3 pt shooting.

Heaven forbid our kids are exposed to differing opinions, right? As long as my kids aren’t ridiculed for their beliefs while they are minors, I would honestly prefer an environment where they are intellectually and spiritually challenged.
