And yet, Phil Steele has Utah as the #6 rated offensive line going into 20222.

Somebody’s knowledge here of Utah’s offensive line is spectactularly wrong, and I’m betting it is NOT Phil Steele.

If this weren’t Zach Wilson – if it were a current Ute in the NFL that made that exact statement, there would be 30 threads with 500 comments by now on CougarBoard and dozens of tweets on Twitter dishing out their wrath to Ute fans and former Ute players.

I kept thinking the same thing. I remember years ago when Connor Manning threw 3 interceptions IIRC and Donovon Isom had like 15 yards of total offense in the spring game.

Our walk on players today could do better than that, let alone the twos and threes.

By the way, I thought JJ played well and I’m excited about his future. If it wasn’t for that INT, I’d give him the slight lead. Can’t wait for it all to come together for him.

I was at the game. My thoughts are that Barnes is slightly ahead as QB2. It seems that Barnes was more willing to take what the defense was giving. Whereas JJ made a few dangerous throws, one of which was an INT. Given that Whitt hates TOs with a passion, if I had to guess Barnes would be the QB2 as of now.

Probably my most memorable was hitting the best cicada season in the last 50 years. Probably around 2002?

I remember that hatch. Beyond insane. Big, 20+ inch trout after trout coming up to take a giant cicada. I just walked upstream fly fishing lower on the B section and enjoyed a perfect two days of fly fishing.

I agree completely. Rising probably would not have made too much of a difference. Yes, he could run/scramble better than Brewer.
