These three guys are not in BYU’s fall camp for various reasons:

Joe Tukuafua – tight end – Utah offer

Ula Tolutau – running back – Utah and Wisconsin offers

Jeremiah Ieremia – linebacker – Washington and Oregon State offers

There are two lines of thought, it seems. One, Kalani is “cleaning house” or two, some players are disenchanted with the program.

Offense: Huntley. I am particularly interested in his passing game. Last year he relied upon Carrington quite a bit. In the Spring, he seemed to be spreading it around much better. He is dangerous in RPO, and I think we will see much more of the P.

Based upon last year and scrimmages in spring ball, we seem to have gone away from the power run game (called run plays, with pulling linemen, and a dedication to keep pushing it up the middle). Another note. Very little running by Huntley. I only remember one, maybe two called runs and one scramble for the 5 yards that set up the long field goal. Stayed in the pocket for quite a while today. I think Tuttle had to scramble a bit more as the 1’s oline seemed to have better protection than the 2’s. Just general impressions…[Read more]

We have a stable of running backs. Moss looks great. Shyne looks a bit tentative, but will be a beast. Green caught a pass in the flat 5 yards behind the line of scrimmage and raced through traffic along the sidleline for 11-12 yards and a first down.

I just heard a replay of the interview with Dr. Hill by Bill Riley. Dr. Hill stated that that plans for the stadium were still being decided and avoided the question on the nature of the renovation. So, I guess still being decided.

My responses to the survey likely weren’t very encouraging, in that I didn’t want to pay more for my seats to be able to eat food at a table in the South Endzone. So, I hope I didn’t ruin their plans. 🙂 I like my seats.

So I heard briefly on the radio today that Dr. Hill mentioned that his goal was to raise $20M of the $25M needed for the stadium “renovation.” The talking heads noted that he used the word “renovation” and not “expansion.” Also $25M seems on the very low end for an expansion.
