Utah out-recruited ybu-p every year since 2002, when recruiting services started rating players, and ranking recruiting classes. That was well before our “Pac-12” era.
Also, Utah went 7-5 against them during the “MWC” era, and outperformed them overall since retaking the mantle of “top dog” all the way back to 1993.

The misinformation campaign was real. All throughout the Pac-12’s media negotiations, Yormark would make claims that Pac-12 schools were interested in leaving, and negotiating privately. Those comments were what led to Utah’s “Gimme a break” remark, and why Arizona St also publicly rebuked Yormark’s unsubstantiated claims about them as…[Read more]

If ybu-p were not on the Big XII, I would have STILL preferred the old Pac-12 to the current Big XII. I still resent the misinformation campaign Yormark utilized to destabilize our former league.
Adding the zoobs only just made things worse.

PhiladelphiaUte replied to the topic Hypothetical question about Rising and Kuithe in the forum Football 6 days, 15 hours ago
You DO realize that injuries aren’t unique to players, don’t you? If Rising were gone, it would still be possible that his replacement would have gotten injured as well. In fact Brandon Rose got injured last year as well, and he was one of the top candidates to replace Rising.

I think Utah gets back into a respectable postseason game again (e.g., the Alamo, Texas, Pop-Tarts, Liberty, or Sun bowls), but we’ll be seeing Baylor and Iowa St in the title game.

I had a girlfriend freshman year (at BYU) whose “FHE dad” dropped that line on her after knowing her for only a week.
And she bought it.
I had to find out from a relative that she was engaged, because she didn’t have nerve to tell me herself.
That guy eventually dumped her for another girl a few months later, using that same line. She…[Read more]

So Tanuvasa goes from being “more bought in” to Utah’s program…
…to being more “bought by” his new program.
But correct you are chinngiskhaan. Tanuvasa goes on to say, “the decision to leave wasn’t one that was fully made by myself…uh…because I felt like I was inspired by something greater than myself.” Yeah, right. Much greater.…[Read more]

I believe he has an older brother on Michigan State’s roster. If I were to guess, he was a Utah lean, and then big brother pushed back on it. It might come down to whether he wants to play “with” family (re: Mich St), or “in front of” family (re: Utah).

PhiladelphiaUte replied to the topic Retzlaff leaving TDS in the forum They So Poo Poo 3 weeks ago
Not really. It’s only “half a season”, and he doesn’t even have to disenroll. Had he not opted to leave on his own, he could have taken as many classes as he would have wanted.
He got a light slap on the wrist for an offense that would have led to a 1-yr disenrollment for any of the other “regular” students at…[Read more]

PhiladelphiaUte replied to the topic What I think about the 2025 football season in the forum Football 3 weeks, 2 days ago
What worries me the most about our passing game isn’t the lack of experience at WR. It’s the experience our presumed starter has at throwing INTs.
I watched our Spring game on ESPN+, and thought that Dampier was just “pretty good”. He wasn’t “great”. And nobody behind him looked capable of leading us to Arlington in December.
Travis Wilson…[Read more]

Does Utah believe that Retzlaff worse than our QB2, or so we just not want the baggage that’ll inevitably follow him?

You’ve already been outed as a zoob. There’s nowhere to go here anymore. All you’re doing now is embarrassing ybu-p, by proving just how “imaginary” your self-proclaimed “higher standards” really are.

All that happened was (1) a Mormon kid, committing to (2) his daddy’s alma mater, with (3) a 7-figure incentive. Zoob nation wants to paint this as though “they’re back”, and had overtaken Utah as the more prized in-state institution, but this kind of recruiting “win(s)” only happen when there’s a “legacy” kid seeking approval from parents and…[Read more]

Not in the 2026 class.
The only other one that I know of is Thaddeus Thatcher, from our 2027 class.
