against a poor team. I am disappointed.
What I would like to see in the second half:
– We need to get a turnover. We haven’t done that in weeks.
– We need to get the ball to some wide receivers.
– Put these guys away in the third quarter. -

I feel the same as the writer. There is no way I thought we would win the south on September 18th when we had just lost to SDSU. I’m glad I was wrong.

ProudUte started the topic Nice article on who may choose to leave at the end of the season in the forum Football 3 years, 8 months ago
No surprises. I was glad to see that Kincaid has the option to stay. I hope at least two of our three tight ends stay. We do have 4 WRs who could leave and 1 who is leaving. That could hurt.

ProudUte started the topic Bill Riley thinks WSU would be our most difficult matchup in Vegas in the forum Football 3 years, 8 months ago
Bill watches a lot more football than I ever will and he has many contacts in the PAC12. However, I admit that I thought just the opposite. I thought WSU would be our best matchup.
– We demolished the Ducks but it’s very hard to do that twice in 13 days.
– OSU ran all over us when we played them in Corvalis. We had no answers for their…[Read more] -
ProudUte started the topic I heard that the PAC12 has nine five-star recruits playing this season in the forum Football 3 years, 8 months ago
Georgia has nine 5-star players on defense.
No wonder their defense is so good. Tough to compete with that.

ProudUte started the topic Misc thoughts on coach Whitt in the forum Football 3 years, 8 months ago
I was scared after we got the Fiesta Bowl bid that we were going to lose Whitt. He had all but decided to coach BYU. Fortunately, he decided to stay and as they say, “The rest is history.” Whitt is a good man and a great coach. Things I admire about him:
– Tough as nails and he shows that to his players by example.
– Humble. When he was the…[Read more] -
ProudUte started the topic Our next opponent in the forum Football 3 years, 8 months ago
On paper, CU is the worst team in the conference statistically. They are 11th on defense – giving up 418 yards per game and they are dead-last of offense only getting 267 yards per game. Yet, somehow they have won three conference games including a victory over Oregon State.
They appear to be amazingly lucky at times. On Saturday they beat…[Read more] -

ProudUte started the topic We beat Arizona statistically better than Oregon. in the forum Football 3 years, 8 months ago
We had 139 more total yards against Arizona and won by 9.
We had 90 more yards than Oregon and won by 31.
We had no turnovers or take-aways in either game.
What’s the difference? The Arizona game was filled with terrible mistakes including a blocked punt/scoop and score. In the Oregon game, we avoided those huge mistakes and had a punt return…[Read more] -
ProudUte started the topic Who will represent the PAC12 North? in the forum Football 3 years, 8 months ago
Here is how it works:
If Oregon wins against OSU – they are in.
If OSU beats Oregon and WSU loses to UW – OSU is in.
If OSU beats Oregon and WSU beats UW – WSU is in.
I think any of the three scenarios are possible. However, I don’t see UW beating WSU. So, if OSU was to beat Oregon (very possible) – we will be playing the Cougars from…[Read more] -
ProudUte started the topic We have now won 3 of the last 4 south championships in the forum Football 3 years, 8 months ago
And if you throw out the 2020 year for the joke that it was – we have won the last three (complete season) championships. Now, it’s time to step up and win the whole thing on December 3rd.
The wishful thinking of many on the Cougar board has our program in a downward spiral, never to return. Our future looks great. We of course will lose our…[Read more] -
ProudUte started the topic So who do you want to play in Vegas? in the forum Football 3 years, 8 months ago
Oregon?
Oregon State?
WSU?
I think I would like to play WSU. For that to happen – OSU must win tonight and next Saturday and WSU must beat Washington. Not likely, but still very possible.

The good news is that I think we can still play better on offense. The defense was a very pleasant surprise tonight!!!

You think you would do your homework. They said that they talked to our defensive coordinator, coach Scay-lee. Wow, really.
They don’t seem to give our Utes much of a chance. I guess I get that based on the way we played against these guys last time. But, today is a new day and a new game. Neither team is as good as they were in 2019…[Read more] -

– We cannot make the boneheaded mistakes we made last week.
– Keep Thibodeaux out of our backfield.
– Run successfully enough against a very good Oregon rush defense to set up the passing game. We need to get the ball in the hands of our tight-ends often.
– Keep Brown contained. We cannot let him have a hundred-yard rushing game like he did…[Read more] -
ProudUte started the topic I am against the NFL expanding to SLC in the forum NFL 3 years, 8 months ago
I love football, but college football is by far my favorite. I do not want an NFL team here because the Wasatch Front is not big enough to support two major college football teams and an NFL team. If an NFL team comes to Utah it will dilute the dollars going to our Utes. I don’t think that you can have 52,000 fans watching the Utes on Saturday…[Read more]
