Focusing on LDS athletes is part of what re-built Utah football from the dumpster fire it had become in the 70s and 80s. Turning our back on those recruits will send us right back to the bottom.

The padlock and key make me think they are locked in, as in they aren’t going anywhere.

Simple fixes:

1. Portal only opens once per year.

2. Reinstitute the rule requiring athletes to sit out a year every time they transfer, or at the very least for each transfer after their first transfer.

Your skepticism is warranted, but for me, the circumstances of this OC hire are different than the rest which gives me hope the results will follow.

It looks too similar to Houston’s logo, as well as other schools like Indiana and Oklahoma. The Drum and Feather has some similarities to the Washington Redskins logo but it is unique in the college game, looks way cleaner than the interlocking U’s, and with the Redskins name change it is now totally unique.

Big Rick was officially announced by USC and even had an introductory press conference, if I recall correctly. So if that is your standard, even an official announcement from the school won’t be good enough.

No. The amount of guys transferring out of the program every year was a HUGE problem. He was losing 25-50% of his rosters just to transfers, and that was before the transfer portal became a thing.

Becker was only 75% on FGs last year with a long of 48 yards. From what I’ve seen, Curtis can easily match that percentage and will likely beat it. He also has a much stronger leg than Becker. At a minimum, I expect our kicking game to be at least as good as last year, if not better.

Overpaying only hurts them if it prevents them from signing additional players. So far, I haven’t seen anything to indicate this is the case.

This is a win for them and a loss for us. No other way to spin it.
