We had 139 more total yards against Arizona and won by 9.

We had 90 more yards than Oregon and won by 31.

We had no turnovers or take-aways in either game.

What’s the difference?  The Arizona game was filled with terrible mistakes including a blocked punt/scoop and score.  In the Oregon game, we avoided those huge mistakes and had a punt return for a TD.  Our offense had nearly 100 more yards against Arizona but scored the same amount of points.  We shot ourselves in the foot with untimely mistakes.  The key to the big victory last night was playing a much cleaner game and third-down conversions.

I am quite certain if we played Oregon again we would not see a 31 point victory.  I think we are a better team and should win.  However, replicating last night would be difficult.  Playing the same team twice in a 13-day span would be hard.  Thus, I would rather play WSU or OSU.

No question. If we end up in a rematch with Oregon in the CCG, it will be an entirely different game. And just because we blew them out doesn’t mean we will beat them again. It’s always a big challenge to beat the same team twice, let alone a team with the talent that Oregon has.

We played a near perfect game, at home with our crowd going wild all game long, and had everything go our way. If we play the Ducks again in Vegas, I would expect the close, hard fought battle that everyone was originally predicting for Saturday’s game. It could go either way, but I like the fact that we are playing our best football at this time of year. We definitely have the offense and defense to beat them twice in 3 weeks. But anyone who thinks we will win easily because of Saturday’s outcome is kidding themselves.

        Well said.

I do like the fact that we are playing our best football in November.

Don’t be shocked if it’s a fired up Oregon State squad. Oregon looks pretty beat up. I’ve never seen so many guys having a hard time getting off the turf than the game last night. Oregon might lose all their remaining games. They are hurt.

Oregon appears to be hurt physically, mentally, and emotionally. When you look at their season game by game, it’s amazing they only have 2 losses. Needed 4th Q comebacks to beat Fresno St & Cal. Forced a last second turnover to beat ucla. Give them credit for finding way to win close games. The win @ Ohio St was very impressive and kept them in the top 4 despite not looking the part since that game.

That game week was used to prepare for Oregon… Coach even said it himself.

It’s for this reason that I’d prefer to play Oregon in the CCG vs a hungry Oregon State or WSU team. Oregon has quit. If they can squeak by Oregon State, I think we beat them soundly. Again.

Oregon has a lot of injuries mounting up. Hoping for a rematch with Oregon St. Those two missed goal line opportunities are going to push this oblock to pancake some defenders.
