  Since the Barnett situation their football program is under a microscope. I feel bad for them, but not too bad. Definitely the biggest douchebag fanbase in the PAC12. Not sure why, but they are up there with BYU.

    Weird, I’ve never met a d-bag Colorado fan. All the ones I’ve interacted with have been pretty chill.
    
    ASU, Oregon, and Washington top the d-bag list for me.

        Been to 3 ASU tailgates. Very hospitable as well. And probably the hottest women in the PAC12.

      I noticed when we entered the Pac most all teams were very welcoming. The exceptions I noticed was Washington was the one that was least welcoming and pushed the little brother thing. ASU was just ASU and treated us like they do everyone. Colo was the FNG along with us so there was natural competition to blend in. All the Cali schools have to much history to be threatened by us. As it sits now the FB teams has respect from everyone, the BB team still has work to do.

        Washington probably my 2nd favorite experience tailgating after Eugene. They are great and it’s funny that they talk smack about one another.
        
        That said, here’s my ranking of PAC12 tailgating experiences:
        
        1. Utah
        
        2. Oregon
        
        3. Washington
        
        4. Washington State
        
        5. Arizona State
        
        6. California
        
        7. Oregon State
        
        8. UCLA
        
        9. USC
        
        10. Arizona
        
        11. Stanford
        
        12. Colorado
        
        Been to at least 2 tailgates at every one. Hope to see you guys at the Swamp next year.
        
        I think Wazzu might be #1, but as I’ve discovered, most people I’ve met through tailgates there are in Seattle. They follow the Utes more than any fanbase in the PAC12. Love those guys. Could you imagine driving to St George from SLC for every game? They’re definitely diehard fans.

      I’ve been to 2 tailgates in Boulder. They bag on us for not having a championship. Much like the BYU fans. Surprised with Oregon fans, after 3 tailgates in Eugene, by far the most hospitable.

    Every CU fan I’ve met has been wonderful. Even some that live here in SLC. I’ve not missed a Utes vs CU game in person since we joined the PAC and because of their hospitality out there, I will continue to go. ASU is by far the worst for me, wsu in Pullman, fans were a little rough but overall good people. Aside from that I’ve had great experiences at games.

      I have never had a bad interaction myself but never been to a game in boulder. Used to work with a huge Nebraska fan and he said they were the worst so idk. 🙂

    I don’t know, UW has been good and USC definitely can be, even ASU has been better than CU.

    Conference realignment has probably also hurt CU. Losing ties to history and an excellent and long standing rivalry with Nebraska, I would guess, led to alumni being less engaged. Interestingly, Nebraska has also only been a husk of its former self since realignment.

  Not an answer to the question directly, but I would like to take this opportunity to echo some of the comments saying ASU fans are the worst. Absolutely my least favorite fans in the PAC-12.

  Colorado’s success in the 1990’s & 2000’s Big XII North is what I thought Utah could become when we joined the Pac-12, with only USC standing in our way most years.
  
  There’s really no reason Colorado can’t do the same, other than the fact they seem to be incapable of hiring/keeping a good coach. Mel Tucker might have been the guy, but Michigan State stole him.

    It is interesting to note that there are many similarities between 80/90’s CU and Utah. Bill McCartney was HC at CU for 12 years and slowly build and developed the program. They had a very physical (option) style and recruited specific players for that style. I hope Utah can become as successful as those CU teams.

  Great take man. You wonder if outsiders notice this. How do guys like Lloyd not get more attention from other programs? Our coaches have an eye for potential and then get all the development out of them.
