Embedding YouTube videos would be cool. Not sure if that already exists.

It’s interesting to me how some pine for the P12. I had my fill of that nonsense conference. Poorly managed, shit start times, horrible officiating, zero reputational bump, terrible money, and a sad mix of haves and have nots. If your name wasn’t USC, UCLA, Oregon, Washington, or Arizona the P12 didn’t give a shit about you. It’s no wonder it…[Read more]

Spring in Utah. Nice time to live here. I can ski still (went yesterday), golf, and mountain bike on the same day.

I’m just checking in on my friends here. How’s it going? We have a few months before football. Wondering if anyone has any bugs, improvements, new features they’d like to see on the website or the mobile app before the season…[Read more]

Worst thing about NIL is has bought (not brought) cougar fans out of the closet. Fo sure.

I think it’s important to know what you can influence versus what you cant influence. At least IMO. Show up with friends and family, have a good time, enjoy the food, etc. Whoever you showed up as won’t be changed following the game because of the outcome. The transfer portal doesn’t help, but even before the current era it isn’t like Gionni Paul…[Read more]

I don’t mean to imply that I like the current transient nature of College Football, just that it is an acceleration of a preexisting state.

I would love for our best players to stay here as long as possible.

If ever….maybe in some unforeseen future where we both make the playoffs…and then the network(s) will have a field day trotting out highlights from those contests.

The past two years have been hard to watch. Injuries, poor coaching decisions, NIL, transfer portal, late games and escalating ticket prices have tapped me out. First time since the early 70’s I did not renew my season tickets.

It has been a phenomenal run for me. Going with my dad then my daughter and my grandkids. The lows then highs have b…[Read more]

You all should post a pic or two if possible. I love seeing where people go on vacation, gives me new ideas for future plans.

Said a few times that USC and Utah had many memorable exciting close games, lots of them settled in the closing seconds, with both teams enjoying their share of being on the happy side of the scoreboard.

Sadly may not see them face each other again for some time.

You guys nailed it: there aren’t any teams in the BigXII (including TDS) that I am excited to beat. I’m bummed that the feeling I got with those absolute wars with USC will never happen again. Also, we spent all winter stressed out about what players were going to get poached away from us. At some point, instead of whining, I’m just going to go away.

  • The Miami Ute replied to the topic Honest Concern in the forum Football 3 weeks, 4 days ago

Oh Tony, that’s the other part…I feel no affinity, at all, for the Big XII…honestly, and this might sound sacrilegious, I would rather be in a regional conference like the MWC provided Utah got the same money, at least, as in the Big XII…I rather enjoyed playing teams like Air Force, Wyoming, etc…plus they made neat road trips as well…I…[Read more]

I think for Utah fans it is a combination of what you feel Tony and what the original poster an Miami said. I want the PAC12 / Rose Bowl days back but it is not going to happen no matter what this team does.

  • Tony (admin) replied to the topic Honest Concern in the forum Football 3 weeks, 4 days ago

My primary displeasure isn’t with NIL. It is with the new conference we have landed in. I really loved beating Oregon and USC especially. I have little excitement for our new “rivals” in the league. Perhaps that will grow over time, but meh.

Well said, Miami. This echos my feelings.

For the first time in my life, I am thinking of taking a step back in my fandom. The 2024 season was very painful, and the 2023 season was not a lot better. I enjoyed the 1965 1-10 season more than this last season. This may seem odd, but the expectations were limited back in 75.

    I have no idea…[Read more]

I’m in the same spot you are and this upcoming season might be my last as a season ticket holder. I have no problem with athletes getting paid but there need to be some guardrails instituted to bring stability to college sports. You cannot have eternal and constant free-agency if you want fans of a team to remain connected and involved with a…[Read more]

College football has always been a player carousel.
The carousel is simply moving a bit faster in the transfer era.

Players have always come and gone, with limited eligibility and aspirations to leave and play in the NFL.
There have been plenty of Utah players who only really had one good year; that doesn’t mean they weren’t exciting.

    Sure it is…[Read more]

Starting to see more player analysis and depth chart projections as of late (kudos to Butters). I know it’s not an original thought, but especially when I look at the projected offense I have to admit that my very strongest emotion is ambivalence. Having a great offensive line is awesome for your team, but there will be exactly zero times this s…[Read more]

Nobody wants to hear their narrative is tired and old. Fans who don’t know anything about the program will continue to blame Whit for a problem he fixed years ago.

  • 22Ute22 replied to the topic Projected Depth Chart? in the forum Football 3 weeks, 5 days ago

This would be such a terrible backup DT rotation. Kaufusi is a 286 pound freshman and Lea’ea is 271 pounds. That’s absolutely abysmal for DT. Can we really not take any more portal DT’s? Because we are royally screwed along the D-line imo.
