Both just saw what Utah’s team used to play like. I watched a bit of the Colorado game, rooting for Colorado. And I kept thinking, this defense doesn’t look right in blue. Reminded me of what Utah used to play like on defense and in bowl games.
Or the easy answer, Deion and Whitt, no longer in their prime.

Meh, I have cousins that call close family friends aunt/uncle and their cousins, moreso than me and my siblings, cousins by blood. Whether bio (not), step (not), or just close, family is broader than blood. But maybe better to just say playing with a close friend, like some others that were here (Huntley, Simpkins from same HS)

If ESPN wants a certain player to play, then ESPN should pay for the insurance.

He dunked in some HS basketball games, so apparently he’s well liked by the football staff.

I don’t know. He’s got enough talent that he might want to take a shot at the NFL. Just two seasons ago, he was a 1st Team All PAC 12 WR…

Any thoughts on Redden? Seems like maybe a development piece for ’26?

Man, last two years were bad. The injury’s out of Fall camp is not new. I think it was 2021 or 2022, maybe both, half of the 10 strong Olneman were out hurt when the season started. Some trickled back into the rotation, but it was a constant shuffle of players in, out, and around to different Oline positions throughout the season.

Outside sources focused on issues associated with strength and conditioning. It’s not normal for any team to have so many injuries over such a prolonged period of time.

I agree. Something is going on with the excessive injuries.
But I don’t have any inside knowledge. So I’m speculating.
Just a guess – they probably get pushed harder in practice and have more physical practices. But I thought the coaches were going to address that this year so maybe I’m wrong.

What revenue? The team is going to get paid the same amount whether any player plays. And if it’s the exposure they are after, well, that’s a double-edged sword, especially after seeing them crap the bed last night.

You know what the hardest part of the bowl season is? Admitting to yourself the are the way of the dinosaur.

Guessing the risk to reward made sense for TV exposure/revenue for CU who is hanging on to every last minute of the Sanders-Hunter show. Half the teams rarely show up to play anyway. As for the non-playoff bowls, I still enjoy watching some of the games during the holidays. Honestly, I am finding my college football interest overall migrating in…[Read more]

I have one (season pass reservation) and am not able to go up – I can change it to your license plate if you’ll use it.

Why should a school pay for something that’s solely catering to a player’s self-interest? The school will get paid for going to a bowl whether the player plays or not. If the player is so worried about getting injured, then let the player get the policy on his own dime or sit out, as many do already.

So? Every school should do it. Bowl games are essentially exhibitions. There’s real monetary risk to many of these athletes. That’s the whole point of insurance.

The Miami Ute replied to the topic Bowl Game Absurdity in the NIL/Portal Era in the forum Football 7 months, 2 weeks ago
The real question should be why Colorado did it, not why other teams aren’t doing it, because it makes zero sense to outlay a large amount of cash to cover two players, to the detriment of the rest of the team, to play in an exhibition game. According to Colorado’s AD, this was Deion Sanders’ idea, though the school was the one that covered the…[Read more]

Yet another sign the college football apocalypse is upon us. With Ward’s decision yesterday, it was abundantly clear what his priorities were. The below order of his priorities are not an accusation, it is a statement of fact based on his choice.
1. Gain an individual record.
2. Preserve health for draft.
3. Help team win game (this is assumed,…[Read more] -
RoboUte replied to the topic Load Management in the forum Football 7 months, 2 weeks ago
In football load management is obligate. The games are much more rough but they only play a fraction of the number of games in total. Putting in 2nd teamers late in the game and holding people out in questionable injury status is effectively load management in football. You also can’t afford to sacrifice games in college football. Every loss can…[Read more]
