I agree on that. I posted over the weekend that just getting to 25 points in every game would have been enough to be 8-1. But I meant that as a compliment to how consistent the defense has been because if 27 against ASU constitutes a blowup, you’re doing pretty damn good every week.

You’re probably right Rick, seeing as BYU only barely won that game.

What is most damning about WR coaching/offense is that we are putting WRs in the NFL, and they are usually better in the NFL (against better competition) than they were here. For example, Devaughn is a starting WR for the Broncos, beating out Troy Franklin. Yet, we couldn’t get him the ball at a level corresponding to his talent.

I watched the BYU vs. SMU game. SMU was auditioning two different QBs during that game and had zero offensive cohesion at that point. It almost seemed like a throw away game for SMU. I think SMU would beat BYU by at least 7 or more points now.

any censorship is too much but I agree that the amount we deal with in the US constitutes a first world problem.

So I’m going off of our first 9 games. We wouldn’t need Pac12 game or someone similar. Look at our scores. Its maddening. Just something above ineptitude would put us at a damn decent record this year.

That’s also the bigger issue: their SOS is only going down at this point. They still get cache for beating an SMU team that is better than just about anyone thought would be, and K State is still a good win. Hasn’t done anything noticeable to improve the last guy’s recruits – I’m crediting the 2022 class to McDonald – and I don’t see anyone in the 2024 or 2025 classes that was/is specifically recruited as an RB. I believe you’re right. I think that Whitt is starting to understand that, no matter how much he likes certain coaches, he’s starting to get to the point where it’s a case of “it’s you and me until it’s you or me.”
