No way MS keeps Ludwig. The culture is set, time for a new generation OC. Wilson has an excellent arm and needs an innovative throwing mind to use it. The Utah OC job is going to be a coveted opportunity. Plenty of coaches see how good an offense can be with a MS run defense, thats not going away.

Sayers is before my time. Dorsett is probably the first great back that I would remember. I saw OJ but only his San Francisco year and Franco Harris was on the tail end of his career by the time I started watching football and understanding it.
As a kid, my parents would get me those anthology sports books that would be devoted to 8-10 players…[Read more]

Ok all the people saying Cam would be able do this and that and how great he could be for some other team while ushering him out there door.. why is it you don’t think he’d be able to do that for us.. again?

These is just my opinion and could totally be wrong.
Top tier: Michigan and Notre Dame. Both are bluebloods with traditionally strong O-lines and they currently have bad QB situations, especially after this year. Plus, these teams also have similar offensive philosophies to Whitt, with the emphasis on a strong run game and a QB that doesn’t h…[Read more]

Morgan needs to go out and find his own OC if Whit hangs it up which is rumored. We cannot go through another season of Ludwig. If he doesn’t decide to retire with Whit then Morgan needs to go in a different direction.

With him, we win both Rose Bowls, or make the CFP.

Who doesn’t? Sanders is an anomaly. Gale Sayers was equally gifted. I was a Packer fan and still rooted for Sayers because he was so fun to watch. In the 80’s I went to a card show and Sayers was signing autographs. He finished and was waiting for his ride to the airport. I was just standing there and he came up and started asking about sports car…[Read more]

Can we get a couple of first round draft picks and 1.7 mill in NIL money as our part of the deal?

Ludwig has said that he will retire if/when Whitt retires.

I said “best” not only. Give me two RB’s that appear roughly equal in all other aspects and I want the one the defenders are never able to square up on.

I can see what you’re saying about high school recruiting. I base my opinions on results. As pointed out above seems we have had better luck with transfers. With the portal you dont need to depend on high school recruits that aren’t ready to play yet. Look at our roster now. Mitchell Glover Randle Stanley Bernard all high school recruits. Ber…[Read more]

Fifita’s coming back next year. I guess I should say he will be playing in college next year, with the school to be determined. So I wouldn’t count on the Arizona job opening.

I generally don’t subscribe to the ‘fire XXX’ philosophy, but I’d make an exception for Ludwig. I don’t understand his “complex” offense, and the need to have one in the first place. Cam and Huntley artificially elevated his reputation. We have enough talent to make it work even with Wilson. Injuries and QB debacle aside, we’d still be undefe…[Read more]

Ludwig is 61. He’s never going to be a head coach. I doubt that Scalley would keep him but you never know. We can blame Ludwig all we want but it’s likely that the offense he runs is a figment of Whitt’s imagination. By that, I mean that Whitt is probably giving Lud guidance as to what he wants out of the offense and Lud is putting together…[Read more]

USC, Oregon, Colorado, Arizona, Alabama, Mississippi…and Penix had not one, but two stellar years at UW. He actually had the same number of pass attempts in his first season at UW as he did during his four years at Indiana. Penix’s only injury at UW was hurting his ankle in the NCG. I have zero doubt that Cam could get picked up by a major…[Read more]

I lived in Kansas for a few years and worked with the “other” all-state RB Sander’s senior year. They were both on the Kansas team for the Kansas-Oklahoma all star game and he showed me the tape once. HS, College and even the pros he did the exact same things and made everyone else on the field look like amateurs. In my prime I don’t think I…[Read more]

Watch him stay healthy and light it up at a new program (should he choose that path). Penix had a stellar year after being perpetually injured. No reason Cam couldn’t do it.

Looking at the list of guys since 2001, I think there is a lot of truth to Chingis original post. I also can look at the list and tell you that there seems to be a real drop off after Kiel MacDonald left. Bernard was a MacDonald recruit and Glover was the last MacDonald high school recruit. What I do know, is there seemed to be a lot more…[Read more]

Whitt’s most successful QB recruits have all ended up at other positions. Off the top of my head: DeVonte Christopher, Chase Hansen, Britain Covey (technically), Brian Blechen but I know I’m missing a couple.
Nate Johnson could get himself into the league if he’d switch to receiver. JaQuinden was never the QB people wanted him to be and…[Read more]
