A lot of players would see Utah as a good opportunity. I don’t think it would be very difficult to sell prospects on playing in SLC.
A high major team in one of the best leagues with the best visibility where you don’t have to compete with a bunch of other blue chippers, like you would at Kansas, Houston and Arizona.
That, plus a staff replete…[Read more]

Saw that.
It’s so interesting how portal timing works. Just makes you wonder what goes into it.
Wahlin, Little, Lovering and Erickson all jumped in pretty quickly, but Keller and Dawes waited a little. Ausar and Sharavjamts still haven’t jumped in, but they probably will at some point.

For a few years there, it felt like Lud was going to commit to a TE heavy offense…not sure what happened. Kuithe (before we went down last season) should have been a huge security blanket for IW/whomever was playing QB, but it felt like he was rarely given a chance. The rest of the TE room was largely ignored and/or had a tough time making the…[Read more]

Over the first two weeks of spring ball, it has become apparent Utah is a little thin on defence at the edge, so rumor has it coaches are targeting elite edge from the ACC. Utah has the upper hand; however, He’s also looking at Kansas, Houston, and AZ. State.

I think we are in a better place with NIL and feel the biggest reasons for leaving Utah is to move down from the Big-12 to find more playing time or having played well can make a better team. Utah will still be a destination better than lesser conferences. One factor to consider is the likelihood that Utah will be better next year and will have…[Read more]

I’ve actually been correct on most (89%) of my postings, you’re just missing the big picture.

Per On3: Keller has now entered the portal.

If Keller can play more like he did vs Butler, I’d be much more interested in keeping him. I guess we’ll just have to trust Jensen and his guys to make the right call on whether he’s worth keeping and developing.

I don’t think he is. None of the portal sites list him there and there’s no news anywhere saying he’s jumped in.
He still has plenty of time to do it, but he hasn’t yet. Just makes me wonder if he really does want to leave. It feels kind of like Deivon last year. He didn’t enter the portal until late in the window.

Beck and Dampier have both said that the nice thing about this offense is they can adjust it to the strengths of the team. Beck said that very early on.
It’s a tired notion that Whit controls the O. No one with any credibility has stated that.

Minnesota Ute replied to the topic Dawes Withdraws from Portal in the forum Basketball (Men) 1 month, 2 weeks ago
Agreed, it was great to see him fix that aspect of his game. It was obviously such a glaring hole, that had he not fixed it, I would have had to question his seriousness. Ezra not making free throws was worse than Gabe not making 3s. His whole game is getting to the basket and getting fouled, so to leave points on the floor because he couldn’t…[Read more]

You noted the problem that can be brushed over. Coaches work and hope to get or develop a star player and leader like Rising that can expand the capability of the football team. And it is hard to recruit a quality backup behind a star. But when such a player develops health issues, it is natural for the team to pull for the return rather than take…[Read more]

I don’t know much about Traore, but I will be happy if Ezra and Mike stay, and hopeful for Keller if he decides to stay. Keller is a good shooting big, but he needs some significant improvement before I see him playing a lot of minutes on what I hope is a much better team, but I think he has all the tools.
