Another game I’ll struggle to watch because I don’t even know if I get ESPN+ or not, and I’ll play with logins and passwords and all that…

There’s a logical reason they are doing this and trying to increase enrollment though. It goes beyond just future conference realignment where they were told this was one of the thresholds for B1G membership down the line. Universities are going to see steep declines in enrollment across the nation as there are less children being born compared…[Read more]

Here’s hoping that St. Jensen can restore interest in the basketball program.

Very grateful the curtains no longer used at basketball games.

I should have mentioned that downvotes were not only deserved, but welcomed on that one.

Does this mean the practice facilities will move as well or stay where they are? My bet is they want this real estate for additional housing but if they move the area elsewhere, seems like the practice facilities would need to go with it.

This isn’t about athletics, Harlan and Randall don’t give a rats ass about anything that isn’t athletics. It’s just them pandering to out of state students by building more dorms and trying to make the U a destination University. As a student Im not happy because every year they take out parking and build more housing and increase enrollm…[Read more]

I guess it will be a reconstruction and not a lift job…
They really do need a more modern (smaller, like 9k for bball, but 15k at gymnastics is great) arena with more boxes and better experience. They are still considering options, but wouldn’t be surprised if this ends up as part of the downtown development. I hope it stays on campus, but not…[Read more]

silverliningsurfer replied to the topic ESPN 700 saying Jensen accepted the job in the forum Basketball (Men) 1 month, 3 weeks ago
Allegedly boosters have agreed to 3x the current NIL allocation, whatever that was.
What will also be big for Utah in 2025 onward is revenue sharing. Our NIL budget may not match big schools but we are somewhere in the top 20 for revenue so that will hopefully help keep us somewhat competitive.

I understand jacking up the prices but I think it’s a joke that the last two years have gone from:
2023: USC, Oregon, Washington, etc.
2024: Kansas State, Iowa State, Cincinnati, etc
2025: same 2024 garbage but one less gamewhile increasing the cost each year.

silverliningsurfer replied to the topic Luke Bottari returns to Utah as offensive graduate assistant in the forum Football 1 month, 3 weeks ago
I mean, Kevin O’Connell was an absolute scrub as a professional but he’s one of the best offensive coaches in the NFL right now. Historically speaking, it’s usually the guys who understand the game really well but just don’t have the physical talent to excel that become great coaches. Hell, Sean McVay is another example.

silverliningsurfer replied to the topic I love Gabe Madsen but his game is too narrow focused on the 3. in the forum Basketball (Men) 1 month, 3 weeks ago
I think the team’s biggest problem over the last few years is Madsen is the only guy who can come off-ball and somewhat create his own shot. The team has been too dependent on his 3pt shooting.
If he’s hot, teams have to give him attention and other guys get easier looks. If he has an off night, no one else has been able to step up.
