Wow, everyone new Helton’s days have been numbered for years. If they just would’ve pulled the trigger last year, they’d have Urban Meyer and be back to national prominence again. Will be interesting to see who they get now.

P**sed and embarrassed that they didn’t do it in the offseason. Disappointed in the fact that a midseason firing means they will get the caliber of coach who is available midseason.

USC is a hot mess.  For the third consecutive time – they have fired a coach during the season.  If they didn’t want Helton – they should have let him go last January.  Why two games into the season?  Seems odd to me.

That being said – the conference needs USC to get back to being good.  Of course, I want the Utes to beat them every season, yet we need USC to be a top-ten team again IMO.

It’s a dilemma — I want USC to suck for obvious reasons, but having a regular playoff contender is good for P12. Objectively speaking, they shouldn’t settle for anything less than a Chris Petersen / Urban Meyer type of coach.
