Good job there, Harlan.
Sources: Utah offensive coordinator Andy Ludwig is staying at Utah. His buyout proved an obstacle in discussions with Notre Dame.

In other words, Coach AL flat turned ND down to return to The U.
Correct. Ludwig was their #1 target and they never would have interviewed him if the buyout was problematic. Ludwig said no. This is PR because ND didn’t get their guy.
Could his “buyout proved an obstacle” be code for he turned them down, but no one turns ND down for Utah!! 🤔

Notre Dame has a 13 BILLION dollar endowment. Ludwig turned them down. Lol.
2.8 is like pocket lint for a school like ND. Ludwig turned them down.
Good on him getting a free trip and meal.
Yesssssss!!!!
Utah outduels Notre Dame for the service of Andy Ludwig… Add that to the list of stuff 2008 me never would have believed would happen.
This article absolutely torches Notre Dame. Love it. Our gain here. Go Utes!

I suspect they’ll be after Hardy next
You could substitute the name Urban for Ludwig, reset the date of the article to January 2005, and it’s the exact same. Irish have lowballed 2 excellent Ute coaches and whiffed on both.
Yeah they knew about the buyout from the beginning. Nice try though
For a school that paid Charlie Weiss 19 million to get lost it is shocking that they wouldn’t be willing to pay 2.8 million for Ludwig. I believe it’s just a PR move to save face and instead Ludwig told them no thank you
