Pretty lame. From CFP and Rose Bowl hopeful to the Alamo Bowl against 7-5 Texas…not intriguing at all. Pretty much a joke game for Texas too. Additionally, how many Utes will sit the bowl game out? Moss? J. Johnson? Anae?

Utah lost out on the Rose Bowl that is it. Utah had close to zero of  shot at the CFP.

Yes I’m disappointed we aren’t in the Rose Bowl but I’m happy to have one more chance to watch Utah football this season.

The name and tradition of Texas is huge in the eyes of the kids. The reaction was very positive for sure. I’d also expect most of these guys to play. The program is different…you’re there for family. I’m sure there will be plenty of discussion but at the end of the day most (if not all) of these guys will suit up one more time.

Thanks for this insight. I would not hold anything against someone that decided not to play, but at the same time that is not the character of this group. I think they are the types that would like to play together one last time.

A chance to play a Big 12 team on New Years Eve is a pretty decent outcome from the PAC 12 championship debacle.  Hopefully we end up with a better result than last years Holiday Bowl against Northwestern.  It will also be good to get some solid preperation prior to spring for the secondary players that had to step in for the injuries to Blackmon and Hubert.
