Ahead of football media day and the start of Fall camp, I have been watching some of the game replays on PAC12 network, and am really appreciating what some players like Covey and Tafua brought to the team effort.
Covey has sure hands to secure the punt to start with. He was always a threat to take it all the way. He was tough, and could take a hit with the best of them. In regular play he was great at getting open and catching the ball in traffic.
I don’t remember ever seeing another player return punts last year? So it will be interesting who they find for the job. Jaylon Dixon was listed as the back up last year.
Tafua seems to always put pressure on the QB even if he doesn’t get all the way to him, and was great in stopping the run also. Suguturaga was playing behind him. Who will step up as the premium pass rusher opposite Filinger?
