This is embarrassing. Put Jackson back there. At least we can scramble then.

Simple autocorrect issue on my phone. Nice of you to point out an obvious typo instead of actually addressing the topic at hand. I understand why you wouldn’t address it though, since you were so obviously wrong.

chinngiskhaan replied to the topic Tavion Thomas in the forum Football 3 years, 10 months ago
As long as Thomas is clearly the #1 or #2 RB in terms of talent, he’ll play. The strange thing for me in regards to Thomas is the way he holds the ball. After Ty Jordan fumbled and cost us an opportunity to win a football game, he hugged the ball with two arms as tightly as he could every time he was about to get hit. Thomas, as far as I can tell,…[Read more]

I seriously can’t believe it. Ford bitching about lack of experience… and then using it as an excuse as to why the DIDNT EVEN TRY to adjust to BYU’s defensive scheme???? What in the actual hell? IDGAF how many games you’ve started in D1 football, YOU’VE BEEN PLAYING FOOTBALL…[Read more] -
chinngiskhaan replied to the topic Who is the leader on the offensive side of this team? in the forum Football 3 years, 10 months ago
I don’t think the main issue is the QB… but Brewer may not be the best option if motivation is an issue. Brewer is at least a decent QB, but I swear to you he seems like he is dead inside. He’s like what you would get if someone set out to design a slightly above average D1 QB robot.

Who is the guy that steps up and gets everyone fired up to make a statement drive when needed? Who is that guy? I sure as heck don’t know. It certainly isn’t brewer. Samson Nacua was the only WR we had with any attitude, and now he’s gone.
Who has what it takes to ruffle some feathers and get this team’s collective ass in gear? -

Now, I saw this live at the stadium, so I may not have gotten the whole picture… but I can’t be the only Ute fan that thought the refs missed an obvious pass interference on a pass to Covey. The dude was literally hugging him seconds before the ball got there, and kept hugging him all the way through the play.
I’m not using this as an excuse……[Read more] -

chinngiskhaan started the topic That game means nothing in the forum Football 3 years, 10 months ago
Aside from what it may say about our talent and coaching, losing that game doesn’t hurt us one bit. Playoff was never going to happen. The ceiling for this team is conference champion. We can still get there.
ive said it all off-season. Harding has until after the USC game to prove that he isn’t the worst coach on the team. -
chinngiskhaan replied to the topic Brewer in the forum Football 3 years, 10 months ago
He’s obviously better than Bentley, but at least Bentley had some fire in him. Brewer seems emotionally dead.

chinngiskhaan started the topic Brewer in the forum Football 3 years, 10 months ago
It’s clear at this point that he’s much closer to being Bentley 2.0 than he is to being the QB we desperately need. Is that his fault? Maybe not, both of those guys probably look worse than they are because of our poopoo offensive line play.
If the line doesn’t show up by the USC game, I’m not watching another game until Harding is gone. Every…[Read more] -
chinngiskhaan replied to the topic Transfer strategy in the forum Football 3 years, 10 months ago
I understand replacing players… but Whitt has mentioned several times leaving scholarships open for transfer guys. That’s what I’m talking about. Fill those spots with guys that haven’t failed on other teams (high school recruits).
Also, as fans it is apparent that we put false hope in these transfers.

Doesn’t seem to be paying off. At some point you have to realize that maybe wasting roster spots on guys who weren’t good enough to play on their old teams is not the best use of scholarships and other resources.

First of all. I’m shocked about how little I care that we lost. I think this game being on 9/11, and Ty being gone things were put into perspective. Also, this game means nothing, I’m oddly kind of happy for BYU fans
I sat on the south west corner on the 3rd row and hated it. I had forgot how much better football clubs watching is from home.…[Read more] -
chinngiskhaan replied to the topic BYU fan here, I come in peace in the forum Football 3 years, 10 months ago
My honest answer: I don’t want the game to continue happening yearly. I’m comfortable with where me team is relative to BYU. I don’t need to be reminded that we are the better program every year. I do have a lot of good memories from the rivalry games (I attended the Ratliff comeback, the beck to Harline, the doink, 54-10, and a few others), but…[Read more]

sure… but that’s semantics as far as I’m concerned. They will be the 5th best P5, we’ll be just ahead of them at 4th (until one of our big market teams starts dominating again some day).

I’m putting this in the football category even though it has implications for the basketball program as well.
Football/Conference Big Picture: As far as football is concerned, this is obviously better for BYU than independence is/was. The Big12 going forward, at least in the near future will be just a hair below the Pac12 in terms of projected…[Read more] -

Drops are drops man… I think the only thing you can do about that is forget about it and move on. These guys know how to catch the football, they just didn’t. Chalk it up to nerves in the first game in front of fans in a long time… and just move on. Hopefully it gets better.

I was really impressed with how well they were coached. They showed how you can have solid play in the trenches from recruiting local boys and giving them solid coaching. They gave us the perfect game 1 situation IMO. No serious injuries that I’m aware of, gave us some things to work on, made us compete, but we still won relatively easily.
I am…[Read more] - Load More
