In the NIL era, I would’ve expected some of these types of guys to stick around longer, not declare early…
RedRocks replied to the topic New Poll: Rate your excitement level for the 2023 Las Vegas Bowl in the forum Football 4 months, 4 weeks ago
Bowl season used to be fun, now I am not so sure.
The amount of players entering the portal and sitting out games only seems to be increasing, which is very disappointing.
I’ll be watching and hoping for a good game, but I am not feeling particularly excited. It would likely be much more fun to go to the game, but everything is sofa king expensive.

There are lessons to be learned from what happens to other people that took a similar path
I think there is a whole lot of ‘chasing the money’ going on in college football right now (not just the players) and not much ‘learning from the past’.

Yeah, it sucks. Unless the athletes are paid and under contract, there is nothing really to be done.

Thanks for the information!
Not sure what caused so many injuries this year, but hopefully the team swings back towards the average (or better) next year on the injury front.

I am first a Kyle fan, and a UofU fan second
How did this come to be in your mind?
RedRocks replied to the topic Why can’t we draw more fans in the forum Basketball (Men) 5 months, 4 weeks ago
I know some fans seem to believe that you need to go all out in your support of the team, no matter what.
However, there are some people (like me) that view sports as entertainment. If it is not entertaining I will not watch.
I think college football is fun. Is it the best football you will ever see? No. Are NFL players better? Sure.
However, I…[Read more]

Sneaking into onto the CMU sideline certainly seems more egregious. I still don’t think having other people attend games for you is a big deal, but I suppose I understand the recording aspect being a problem (again, a rule is a rule).
RedRocks replied to the topic Sign 'stealing' in the forum Football 5 months, 4 weeks ago
Yeah, that makes sense I guess. A rule is a rule.
So, had he attended the games but not recorded, would that have been okay?
RedRocks started the topic Sign 'stealing' in the forum Football 5 months, 4 weeks ago
Can someone explain to me why this Michigan sign stealing ‘investigation’ is even a thing?
From what I understand, Connor Stallions (the Michigan ‘thief’) was simply gathering ‘publicly available’ information. He didn’t sneak into unauthorized areas. He didn’t steal playbooks.
He watched, recorded, and analyzed information that was available to…[Read more]

Hopefully it doesn’t happen for a long time. When it does, hopefully whoever takes over can keep it rolling.
RedRocks replied to the topic Whitt's presser in the forum Football 5 months, 4 weeks ago
Washington feels like a match-up nightmare for Utah. If their Offensive Line is better than Oregon’s, the game could get ugly.
Utah’s pass defense relies so much on pressuring the quarterback and our downfield pass coverage has not been very good. This is a bad combination if the Utah defense can’t get QB pressure against the pass-heavy offense…[Read more]

There’s nothing wrong with caring about something enough that you cry when you fail.
RedRocks replied to the topic Big 12 Schedule 2024-2027 in the forum Football 6 months ago
Really? TCU always seems to make me nervous. OSU is generally a solid team as well. Baylor almost beat us this year. TDS has the most recent win in our series. There are plenty of teams able to beat you if you don’t come to play.
That said, I will miss having Oregon, Washington, USC, UCLA, etc on the schedule. Such a shame that the Pac12 is dead.

RedRocks replied to the topic Are there any rules preventing Cam from transferring? in the forum Football 6 months ago
All of this NIL money stuff needs to come with contracts, and the contracts need to go both ways. The school should have to pay the player and the player should have to stay at the school (unless they mutually agree to terminate).
The current environment feels like constant free agency. Imagine if that were a thing in the NBA or NFL…

Probably why I seem to have missed some sarcasm in a different thread…
