For high school recruits, since Ty, we only have:

Ricky Parks: COVID recruit. If you look through rankings, there were a lot of misses by absolutely everyone that year.

Jaylon Glover: Decent, but not elite.

All of the 2023 recruits: All 3 weren’t meant to come in and compete. The word from the beginning is that they all need to bulk up, and they weren’t expected to contribute until 2024.

I think it’s waaaaaaay too early to say that recruiting has been poor since Ty. You could argue that we should have picked up another 1-2 in Glover’s year, but I’m guessing we had other needs.

If we can actually sign Lamar Radcliffe (2024 commit), then I’ll feel pretty good about our room next year. He’s flown under the radar because he was injured his junior year. He’s a big, fast back, and he’s tearing it up this year.

As to his potential….he’s impressive. I was most impressed with how he excelled under pressure. When you make the opposing team pay for applying pressure, it really opens things up. It’s one of Cam’s greatest strengths. According to PFF, he really kills it under pressure. Bryson and Nate obviously struggle in that area….

Yes. Scholarship at Utah, and PWO at Oklahoma.

I believe he has a younger brother being heavily recruited by Oklahoma as well…

That should open up the run game to that gap. We just didn’t run much in the 2nd half.

RB runs outside of the safety on JJ: 14 yards, 11 yards, 6 yards.

      That’s it.

Most of this is just pulled from Whitt’s interview yesterday. I gather that the team’s medical staff think he should be good to go, but Cam is waiting until the actual surgeon clears him. That’s the “uno” doctor. In that interview, it was also revealed that Brant has the same doctor. Whitt said that part of the recent problem is that they’ve been waiting to get clearance until later in the week, and obviously this has bitten them in the foot. I don’t think he specifically said Monday, but he said that they’ll be aiming to get clearance early in the week (presumably so reps can be divvied up appropriately).

In answering a question about who the back up would be if Cam isn’t a go, Whitt mentioned Rose and Bottari. DJ/PK may just be using that information to make the (correct) assumption that Rose is practicing. Rose was NOT on the most recent depth chart, but Whitt only takes season-ending injuries into account for the depth chart and the QB position is only 2 deep. So Cam is #1 and Nate is #2. Unless someone gets knocked out for the season or Rose passes Nate, the depth chart at QB will remain the same.

I’ve heard Rose is back practicing, but it’s not necessarily full participation. I’m not sure what that means as I also believe I heard he was running the scout team.

How do you know how much separation there was before his injury? Honestly, they barely completed against each other. Fall camp of freshman season…reps all going to Cam and Bryson. One week of spring before Nate got injured, then one week of fall before Rose got injured. There wasn’t a lot of head to head competition. And Brandon was declared clear 2nd string after spring. From what I understand, he has the best arm on the team. Offense install happens in fall, and he got injured just as that got going. I think evaluating his future is impossible given the lack of media access.. unless you have insider info.

I heard that Utah wanted him to shut it down, but Isaac wants to finish what he started this year. Honestly, that’s kind of what you want in a QB. As an outsider and many many years his senior, it’s easy to say that he should get the surgery now….but I know 17 year old me probably would see things differently.

From what I understand, his next surgery is large enough that he’ll definitely miss Spring, and that will likely set him behind enough that starting next year would be very unlikely.

First, did it really take him that long? 2 weeks into spring ball??

Second, I think you severely overestimate how much time they have to prep players mid-season. Especially a player that needs to understand all of the nuances of the playbook. I’m not saying Rose is Him, but I also don’t think we know enough to be calling him out.
