ParticipantWhen DHC left the team @Onlyu hinted at the fact it had a lot to do with some of the other RBs progression, and that he would likely be falling down the depth chart. My question, what is your projection of the RB order come fall? Who should we expect to really stand out this season? I’m interested in hearing others takes on this as well.
For Onlyu, thanks for all that you’ve contributed to this board. I understand you can’t be answering every question sent your way, but I thought I’d throw this one out there.

ParticipantI would personally love it if Wilmore, and green took the bulk of the early down snaps. I think it’s important for our 4 star guys like Wilmore to shine early. I also think his blend of strength and speed provide the best potential for an ever down back. I just really love how Green runs. He is fast and very shifty.
Brumfield will probably get a lot of carries, but I didn’t love his running last year. My hope is that he doubles down on the brute style running, and becomes a larger version of Moss in short yardage situations.

ParticipantWasn’t Brumfield immensely more productive in 3rd and 1 and 4th and 1 situations than Moss?
I hope Brumfield gives them a run for their money. If they want the job, they better ball out, work hard, and earn it.

ParticipantYeah. I just don’t like the way he runs. If he’s the most productive back, he should play. I just prefer to watch the other two run.

ParticipantThe dude had 88 rushing TD’s in HS in Louisiana. If he can convert some of that to D1 he could be really good even if he’s not a burner.

ParticipantRight now you have Brumfield/Wilmore that will battle for the #1/2 spots this fall. These two will get 30 of the 40 rushing snaps per game.
Then you have the change of pace guy. This is where DHC fit in. This spot will get 10 or so snaps per game. I’d put Green, Dixon and Covey here. You have Bernard and Jordan trying to steal reps as well. DHC was behind Green, Dixon and Covey and that’s why he left.

Participantp.s. If you doubt Brumfield, go watch the USC game again. He did very well that game. He is better than he gets credit for. It will be a battle between him and Wilmore and it will be glorious.

ParticipantGreat question…it’s gonna be a really competitive camp. Wilmore and Brumfield got some time last year and we’ve seen plenty from those young guys. Green is very talented, a veteran and would have gotten more time last year had he stayed healthy in camp and don’t sleep on Bernard…kid is talented and has a bright future. Oh and Ty Jordan is a big time back as well as a true freshman, who knows what he brings to the table. Never been a deeper group in my opinion and it’s gonna be a war. Who shows up in great shape? Who comes in with the right mentality? Who commits to pass pro? Who stays healthy? If you can answer that you have your guy.
They all have a ton of talent and high expectations.
Here’s my best guess:
Wilmore – I think he’s special – Home run threat
Brumfield – so physical – he’s a man
Green – talented, quick, good hands…can he take the beating…if so he’s not afraid of the moment.
Bernard – just waiting to break out. When he gets his chance you might not get him off the field!
Jordan – FUTURE is soooooo bright.
