Spoke with an orthopedic friend of mine up at the U. He said that with broken collarbone’s, players should wait at least three months before contact. He said if Huntley goes back at two months, and get’s hurt. He is risking his entire 2019 season and potential long term health issues as it relates to his shoulder.

Obviously I do not know Tyler’s situation or his Doctor, but it seems risky having him play in the bowl game given the nature of the injury.

I would guess it also depends on the severity of the break.

Bones take 3 months to heal. No matter what he should sit out.

Ligaments 6. It is just how it is.

I trust the trainers on the team to make that decision

He shouldn’t play period.  It’s a mid teir exhibition game and he has nothing to prove.  Let the youngsters get the reps… and start working toward getting to the Rose Bowl next year.

I did my collarbone about 10 years ago. Couldn’t have surgery because of the location of the break. It was 2 months before there was good union, 6 months before it felt “right”, and a year before I regained full range of motion.

I hear that timetable is reduced if you have surgery. Anyone know if he had surgery?

Yes, he had pins placed.  I’m sure he’s getting top notch after care to be sure he gets a strong union and quick healing.
