I’m 50/50 or even 60/40 (loss). They always have high talent players. It’s the first week. It’s a road game. New offense etc.

I think that if anyone on the fan side or admin side is overlooking anyone, they should be shot

  • Beach news alert it was a hypothetical realignment by a hack that had nothing else to write about. Both teams (Utah BYU)have not been good. My point being talent wise not much separation. If you want to say BYU has been better great. I would have the same opinion if Utah made 8 tournaments and BYU 2 switching conferences. You have a much better…[Read more]

  • It’s a function of the fact that they still believe BYU-Provo Campus athletics is a missionary tool. To them, this isn’t just about football – it’s about your salvation. So they attach more meaning to athletics than pretty much any other fanbase out there.

Of course, the truth is BYU-Provo Campus sports aren’t a missionary tool. Quite the…[Read more]

  • Utah has a history of being able to leverage their own experience and toughness against more talented teams. *IF* Utah stays healthy I think we can win every game. Will we? I’d give it almost no chance of happening, but assuming Chris Peterson stays retired there are no games on the schedule where it’s a likely loss. Of all the teams that make me…[Read more]

It’s not THAT bad around here. I kinda think a little dust-up here and there add some spice to a message board, but then again i am pretty quick to forgive and forget, so I don’t get offended easily. That is good for me, but maybe bad for others. I’ll try to be a little more considerate.

  • Refresh my memory! Do you work at/own a bar?

  • It’s a testament to how much goodwill the program has built, because based on the body of work of our team recently there is absolutely no reason for us to even break the 30s, possibly the 40s. I’m optimistic that we can end the season ranked higher.

I think this is a very fair point. The post Majerus era has been brutal 95% of the time. It would be crushing to see something similar in football. I think that is where Utah fans are really lucky to have somebody like Scalley standing in the wings though. We can’t say that he will for sure be successful, but I think it’s more likely than not. He…[Read more]

I understand what you are saying. To me – it seems that the fire does not burn inside KW as it once did. I could be wrong. I hate how Kyle handled the QB issues the last few years. I think he failed in 1. Getting a solid backup ready to play and 2. The weekly drama was handled very poorly IMO. 3. As the coach, he should not have let the locker…[Read more]

  • I tried to sponsor last year, but I assume my offer was declined because I sell beer.

  • I’m going to be posting some Kurt Vonnegut before the BYU game. Book it.

Be careful what you wish for. I hope Kyle stays forever. I remember thinking that near the end of the Majerus days that maybe it was time for him to move on because I had grown tired of his off season flirting with every program out there. I had also grown a little tired (ie spoiled) with winning games 52-43. Boy was I wrong!

    I’ve had 20+…[Read more]

  • Typical off-season banter aggravated by the last two seasons and P12 break up. KW kept the core of his coaches and best players tells me the players are all in. I enjoy this site creativity and content of the posters. When a poster quotes Tolstoy, you know we’re getting close to kickoff.

  • From the article: “No. 25 Utah (+59): Our voters are clearly expecting a return to form for Kyle Whittingham’s program, bouncing back from last year’s 5-7 showing to be right back in the mix for the Big 12 title. Some more consistent availability at the quarterback position will be a welcome start, with Devon Dampier arriving from New Mexico to be…[Read more]

  • First… it’s the offseason. Second… There’s a ton of great content here. Just ignore the TSPP category and you’ll probably filter out most the stuff you don’t want. It’s really unfortunate that we are in a conference with “them” again. Their fan’s childish CB mentality brings everyone around them down to a junior high cat fight level. I was so…[Read more]

It has indeed been a great ride. I love what KW has done for Utah football. In fact, no one has done more for Utah football than Whitt. However, there comes a time when you need to move on and hand things over to the new guy. In this case, he will be handing it over to the guy he mentored and taught.

I hope that this is KW’s last season. I…[Read more]

  • Winning cures a lot of ills…. always does. I’m cautiously optimistic about this year and hoping the team is relatively injury free and the O-Line is cracked up to be the force everyone expects it to be. It’s as close to an NFL line as Utah has ever had, that means trouble for the opposition.
