Utah replied to the topic Transfer Portal: question about Chaz Ah You in the forum Football 5 hours, 3 minutes ago
Ah You and Bernard are completely different situations.
Bernard was a situation of a very overzealous honor code nazi looking to bust a BYU player. Bernard was in a parking lot and the cops essentially waited until the car moved, pulled them over and found an open container of alcohol in the car. Not smart, not what I’d want my kids to do but…[Read more]

It was George Patton who reminded us, the other side will have a plan also. Someone in conference always has a development no one saw coming.

If money was no object, then what you propose is eminently doable. Unfortunately, without probably some sort of government involvement, greed always wins out. The legacy B1G and SEC universities will always take a line of “why should we share our good fortune with others?”

I am worried about the future of CFB. There needs to be some sort of balance between tradition and new. I don’t want to alienate a bunch of CFB fans of G5 teams let alone Big XII and ACC schools. So here is what I would do:
1. 24 schools in the B1G and SEC. 4 divisions of 6 in each. Utah would be in the B1G with ASU, Arizona, Colorado, Nebraska…[Read more]

There is a reason Utah is known world-wide as a racist misogynistic backwater, and you are part of that reason.

Straight ahead run for a 3-yard TD because we returned the kickoff to the 3 yard line. 🙂

I feel a steady stream of 8-12 yard passes over the middle, and runs outside until we get to conference play. We don’t have the backs to pound it down their throats, and no reason to show too much of our long game over the top. Just let the play makers make plays in space.
I think we have enough offensive play makers that we will be hard to stop…[Read more]

I’ll be fine if we run between the tackles on the first play of the season.
Just for the love of all that is holy, don’t run the Lud double reverse, don’t run that abomination ever again.

In society, we have become too much of “all or nothing” and “black and white” while life is nothing but different shades of gray.
ENJOY IT. Preseason hype has LITTLE to do with how the season will pan out and everything to do with they type of program, reputation, history and respect you have. There is a reason why Texas and ND are top 25 every…[Read more]

This is the year. Love the hype. Have to take it one game at a time… Thank the lord we have KWhitt. The only man alive I’m convinced that is the same day in and day out despite the money and fame. He preaches the one game at a game mentality. Even better CR believes it also.

For what it is worth, I thought Cam’s throwing motion was still a bit janky at that point. I’m not sure that he was completely healed.
Mixing a prolific passer with a mandate to not throw interceptions is always going to be unpredictable. The Brewer games were pretty ugly but they gave Cam more time to recover.
Cam being healthy enough to do…[Read more]

Add some but take some away. I thought Deivon was an awfully important part of the team, made good decisions, and could make things happen in the offense. If we had kept him I would feel the program to be on an upwards trend.
Without Deivon, wait and see.

While it’s true that Cam was coming off a shoulder injury he suffered the previous year, he was definitely healthy prior to the start of the 2021 season. Brewer just beat him out for the job. It’s not like this happened 50:years ago, so there’s plenty of available news data that refers to it.
There was a lot of hype associated with Brewer…[Read more]

I bet Smith would look a lot smarter if he had better players. The problem is he does not seem to be very good at getting better players on campus. That is obviously a serious problem.
Not being able to win an away game is also a real bummer.
Fingers crossed but expectations are pretty moderate for me.

I don’t think Cam was healthy enough to start over the Baylor transfer.

Predicted by 247 to be a 1st round draft pick. Um, yes please. I don’t think I’ll hold my breath for this though.

Great news. In terms of whether Huard fits Ludwig’s schemes- Ludwig knows how to utilize the skillset of the players he has. The playbook might be different for Huard than for Rising but if Huard can make the right decisions and deliver the ball accurately, Lud will make that work.
This pickup seems as good as we could hope for in terms of…[Read more]
