to your second #2: A lot of those bad bounces were self inflicted which doesn’t always revert to the mean. Just dropped interceptions alone cost the TCU and parochial school games. It’s not an either/or world any more. You’ve got to figure out a way to pay both and Whitt said during the season that he already had his spreadsheets and budgets set. Now we’ll see if Blechen / whitt are as good at Moneyball as Billy Bean was.

Here are 3:

#1 – I’d be shocked if we don’t get better QB play next season. Even if it’s a combo of Rose/Wilson, I’ll expect better results than what we saw this year.

#2 – Fewer injury issues. I don’t expect our 2 most important players (Rising and Kuithe this year) to be out for much of the season due to injuries next year.

Statistically the offense was an outlier. It will go back up. I don’t think the coaching improved at all in the BIG12. The defenses top to bottom were pretty unimpressive.

Arnold is surrounded by loads of talent and still wasn’t enough. Dampier is at New Mexico. Dampier himself carried that team. Oklahoma carried Arnold.

Pass. I’m going to catch heat for saying this but I’d rather have Dampier. Arnold couldn’t elevate his team despite having the talent advantage. His QBR is poor. Yah his TD to INT ratio is better than Dampiers but 6 of his TDs came vs Maine and Temple. He’s not as explosive as Dampier, especially on the ground. I’ll pass on Arnold.
