Does Ike have any local relatives? If so, give him/her a clipboard and a whistle.

Read many posters claiming that “Whittingham is the greatest coach Utah has ever had”. (A few cited Urban but nixed him because he wasn’t here long enough).
Sorry, but gotta call BS on all of you Whitt homies for not knowing your Utah Coaches. Compared to the best coach Utah has ever had, Whittingham’s record is very pedestrian at best. And…[Read more]

Madsen can shoot…at home. Time will tell if he can shoot on the road, but the evidence so far isn’t favorable. We have average overall talent, below average athleticism, and way-below-average FT shooting.
I think we will be a disaster on the road and respectable at home. Maybe even pull off a couple top-25 upsets. We’ll have plenty of chances…[Read more]

The Miami Ute replied to the topic Hypothetical: Who's your pick for Utah HC (assuming KW leaves)? in the forum Football 5 months, 1 week ago
For what it’s worth, here are the salaries of current Big 12 football head coaches with the exception of Sitake:
Highest-Paid Big 12 Football Coaches
1. Mike Gundy, Oklahoma State – $7.75 million
2. Lance Leipold, Kansas – $7.5 million
3. Kyle Whittingham, Utah – $6.525 million
4. Deion Sanders, Colorado – $5.7 million
5. Chris Klieman, Kansas…[Read more] -

Is Corner Canyon great because Kjar is a great coach? Or is Corner Canyon great because they have a ton of great players transfer into his program?
I’m sure he is a fine coach, but my guess is the latter. Any coach is going to look like a genius with the athletes he’s had at Corner Canyon.

Nothing that a few million in NIL money can’t solve. We just need to find a couple big donors to get (buy) good players.
It would be interesting to see what our attendance would be if we had the same situation as BYU.

I told my friends 15 years ago the U basketball program is broken beyond repair and they all laughed. LMAO. If we aren’t the bottom feeders for basketball (just like football) I will be incredibly shocked.

We all know Scalley is the next HC and we hope he’s gonna be great.

Instead of a hypothetical you should have labeled this thread fantasy choice.
We all know Scalley is the next HC and he’s gonna be great. He’s not Whit Jr he has a different offensive philosophy than Whit. He’s gonna bring young energy to the program.
My fantasy picks

Sign me up as well. I’ll take 2 to 5 years that results in a playoff run over 20 years of consistency with a Rose Bowl loss ceiling.

Probably just here to Urban Meyer us. Which I’m ok with.
If those two years are DeBoer at UW level, sign me up.
The truth as I see it is that any coach who wins 9 games at Utah will be a commodity going forward. And I’ll take as many of those as you’re willing to throw at me. Whitt is a unicorn and current recruits have no idea who McBride i…[Read more]

2008 National Champ replied to the topic Wilson debacle is on Whit in the forum Football 5 months, 1 week ago
Playing Wilson this year just moved up the inevitable. We got to see his true talent level and decision making instead of putting all of the 2025 hopes on him. And quite frankly, as bad as the Wilson hype was for the last 2 years, the lead up to 2025 would have been insufferable around these parts if he’d rode the pine this year.

If the stories are true, it was Taylor who put his foot down on starting Huntley. Whitt wanted to go with Williams

Unfortunately, I think Isaac goes into the portal in December. I had high hopes for the kid. This year was a mess. He was only supposed to play in a mop-up role. He was thrown into the fire much too soon.

Utah replied to the topic Hypothetical: Who's your pick for Utah HC (assuming KW leaves)? in the forum Football 5 months, 1 week ago
I think the reality is, we may revert back to a stepping school for coaches.
Not being in the SEC/Big 10 means we won’t be able to pay as well. The Big 12 is just a better paid MWC again.
That is the one big plus for Scalley: He’d never leave. Neither would Jay Hill.
Every other coach outside of those two? Probably just here to Urban Meyer…[Read more]

Yeah I debated including him for that reason, plus their boosters could probably match or exceed any offer we make. Left off the Louisville coach for the same reason.

Cignetti just signed a deal worth ~ 1.5 MM more per annum than Whitt makes. That’s a non-starter

I wonder how much Whitt’s fuckups at QB have him second guessing himself.
Look at all the QB’s he fucked up on:
He started Jon Hays over Travis Wilson.
He picked Jack Tuttle over Zach Wilson.
He actually made the right decision on Huntley, starting him over Williams.
He started Bentley over Rising.
He started Brewer over Rising.
He started…[Read more] -

Cignetti would be my first choice, but he seems intent to stay in Indiana and likely wouldn’t leave for anything short of a blue blood school.
I would like to see the following at least interviewed before it’s just given to Scalley:
– Brian Johnson, he’s had coaching stops at Houston, Miss St & Florida with Dan Mullen, had a hand in coaching Dak…[Read more]
