The foul shooting is what kept the game close against E. Washington and it was infuriating to watch. E. Washington missed only one out of eighteen and we missed 17 foul shots. Is there no emphasis to practice foul shots, enough practiced foul shots creates muscle memory and rhythm, which creates a higher percentage. Coach Smith should have these…[Read more]

I was surprised that he only showed 1 assist in the box score, because I know he had several sharp passes. That is my one big hope for Lawson (other than making he and Ezra making their DAMN free throws) is that he will be a good passer. That is what really differentiated Bogut and one of the things that seems like it’s been lacking from our…[Read more]

Been listed as Assistant Coach/Offensive line since 2017. Has these extensive accolades on his bio including how well Booker did:
As the co-offensive coordinator with oversight of the run game in 2015, Harding was instrumental in the career of another NFL draft pick in running back Devontae Booker (2016 to Denver).
What’s his deal? Just h…[Read more]

The NCAA settlement sets maximum roster size at 105, all of which are eligible to be scholarship athletes. I believe Utah carries somewhere around 120-123 on the roster currently. That means that considering the portal players coming in, the high school players coming in, and seniors leaving, there needs to be net reduction of 15+ players to set…[Read more]

I will NEVER understand the FT struggles. It’s an unguarded shot from 15 feet. Any D1 athlete should be able to consistently make that shot at at least a 75% clip. 3 of 4 is not too much to ask and failure to at least achieve that is a failure mentally and/or a failure of accountability.

I don’t know about that. Marion is seen as the leading candidate for the HC job at Sam Houston State. Even if he does come to Utah, he’s an up and comer and you might only have him for one season before he takes a HC job somewhere else.

And if @elguapoute is correct, their OC will be our new OC! 🎉

Same here…I’m hoping all of the underdogs win and sprinkle some shit in the CFP’s rice bowl. Would love to see how the “committee” handles an 11-2 SMU after a loss to Clemson. They’re most likely out so that Bama can get its foot in the door.

But if UNLV beats Boise State in the MWC CG, they’ll likely make the CFP as a #12 seed. Now, who could have predicted that before the season started?

Kyle has 3 years left on his contract and is owed a large amount of cash.
I’m sure it takes a little time to work through the logistics of his buy out. -

Rule, you’re a great poster on here, so no disrespect. To me, 5-7 feels like the sky is falling (especially for a team that everyone predicted to win the conference). So, I don’t care what it takes or who does it, but I’d just like for the product they put out on the field to not be the nonsense (not you, defense) that they ran out there the…[Read more]

No news is bad news (as far as I am concerned.)
We need a solid OC going into recriting and portal transfers.

Can’t this season. The window is 12/9/24 – 12/28/24. Last year it ran from 12/4 – 1/2.

This is a bad Whitt MO. The silence right before NSD doesn’t bode well for the program meaning he’s not leaving and heavily involved in the next OC hire and Scalley may have very little to say in the matter. I could be right and I could be wrong, but prepare yourselves for news that Ute fans and recruits may not like but that appeases Whitt and…[Read more]

Red Rhino replied to the topic Why would an OC who has designed a fast-paced offense want to coach under Whitt? in the forum Football 8 months ago
If Whittingham had the attitude of why change things when it’s working, then why did he fire 8 offensive coordinators? Obviously, he thought there was a problem with the offense, but it wasn’t with him.

I dont think anyone should be surprised at the lack of communication from the coaching staff.
